I can't see this really taking off soon. Other than to get more players on the Tomahawks player pool. The AMNRL western expansion has "teams" that have never even played a match yet. Utah, Texas, California, and Illinois all have teams that haven’t stepped on the pitch. As well as Hawaii. Why on Earth would you expand in to American Samoa?
Also as far as the article talking about the # of football players to come from American Samoa. For the 2011 Recruiting year Texas had one more recruit than Florida 345 to 344.
By Population it was 1.Florida, 2. Georgia (170),3. Louisiana and 4. Alabama. Louisiana and Alabama with 87 for La. and 86 for Alabama and both states have about 4 million residents. Alabama has more state high school players listed but La. has more private schools and their numbers are not available.
Not that football players don’t come from Samoa. But its not the most.
