AMNRL into American Somoa

AMNRL expansion has taken them into American Samoa. They are expanding fast. Soon they will have a team in every major US city and Porto Rico. Maybe the USARL teams shouldn't have left.

One difference.The Canadian set up is built on solid foundations.

Another expansion area but after 15 years or so, I'm still waiting for the juniors! Its like building a house from the roof down. I look at what the RIR have done in such a short space of time and compare it to the AMNRL and I am left scratching my head. I am not taking sides, I just want the game to succeed in North America. Without juniors, the game will go nowhere!

American Samoa and the large Pacific Islander population in Hawaii give the US a chance to fast track thier way up the world order if they use them well.

I'd love to see the next Pacific Cup in Hawaii with the US involved.

I can't see this really taking off soon. Other than to get more players on the Tomahawks player pool. The AMNRL western expansion has "teams" that have never even played a match yet. Utah, Texas, California, and Illinois all have teams that haven’t stepped on the pitch. As well as Hawaii. Why on Earth would you expand in to American Samoa?

Also as far as the article talking about the # of football players to come from American Samoa. For the 2011 Recruiting year Texas had one more recruit than Florida 345 to 344.
By Population it was 1.Florida, 2. Georgia (170),3. Louisiana and 4. Alabama. Louisiana and Alabama with 87 for La. and 86 for Alabama and both states have about 4 million residents. Alabama has more state high school players listed but La. has more private schools and their numbers are not available.

Not that football players don’t come from Samoa. But its not the most.

This is true, however willy nilly expansion without thought behind it will take the most turned on guys in the region or area that are keen to get something up and going, will become the biggest hurdle if you dont live up to your promises.

What about the "Western Expansion" That has been talked about for so many years? They haven't even kicked off a game. The reason that the Roman empire fell was because the expanded their resources over to much of the world. AMNRL is following that suit. No foundation for a proper expansion. History likes to repeat it self.
