Chin up Blues fans it was a great match. This has been the most competitive side NSW have put out in a while now.

Jamie Buhrer was way out of his depth, another David Williams, Aaron Raper NSW selection.

The referee ruined the spectacle for me.

The Jennings sin bin, was a joke, i mean when does anyone get sin binned in Origin? All this talk about Jennings running 40m is ridiculous, i mean everyone ran in from all over the park. Brent Tate would've run just as far to get involved and he took a swing at Luke Lewis. Ref should've blown the penalty to Queensland, chatted to the captains and moved on. That led directly to the first try.

The penalty on the Bird tackle was also a joke, the guy ended up landing on the top of his back, nothing wrong with that in Origin, was a good hard tackle. Again another penalty leading to a Queensland try.

Then of course there's the Inglis try which was an absolute joke.

Origin is meant to be the pinnacle where the physicality and toughness goes up another level, we've seen the refs in the past give much more latitude. This ref ruined the game IMO

No one else came running in throwing a cheap haymaker at a player not looking. Binning was appropriate.

Maybe a little harsh for Origin, but Bird took him past the horizontal. That's the rule on dangerous position penalties.

That was a head scratcher, but at least it didn't decide the outcome

Please. If your side had been able to score anything more than points from QLD errors, you might have a case. It was still a cracker of a match. NSW won the penalty count too.

Carney was very ordinary
Buhrer proved, as expected it was way too early in his career for SOO football
Creagh was barely sighted

Tamou, Farah, Morris and Hayne all had strong games

I'm sure Queensland were shitting themselves at the thought of Creagh and Buhrer running at them and smashing them in tackles.

I'd punt Buhrer (another year or two maybe) and Creagh (can't beleive they stick with this bloke) and bring in Galloway (or another big bloke who can bend the line back) and I'd definitely bring in Watmough. We missed him.

Jennings worried the life out of them in the second half, I'd keep him...and Uate, I'd kick him up the arse and explain that in Origin, you can be more confident in your inside defenders than you can when you play for Newy.

Tamou was excellent, they had real trouble handling him and we need more of that. I take back what I said about you last year big fella.

I dunno about Carney, the problem for me is who would I bring in for him and the answer isn't immediately apparent. I'd give him this series to prove himself.

And lastly, I'd put Hayne where he belongs, at Fullback.

There was 6-7 minutes left in the game and it turned the QLD lead from 2 points to 8. How the f**king hell can you conclude it didnt decide the game?

NSW were on top at that point, should have had a 20 metre tap, with 7 minutes to go and only requiring a single try to win the game.

Get farked it didnt decide the game, it took any chance of NSW winning away from them. Unfairly. That my friend is deciding the game

Um, so did you miss the other 9 players running in including Brent Tate who threw punches?

Again, no one else came in and blind-sided a player with a haymaker. Just about everyone else in that huddle was trying to break it up.

"Thirdmanin" Jennings came in from the side with his flying superman punch.

Why do we keep expecting instant succes from our halves? Carney will come good, unless we're dumb enough to treat him the same way we have all the other halves we've tried and dumped.

Agree!

Carney's main problem last night was that after making mistakes he became to desperate to make up for them and rather than just play he kept trying to do something extraordinary so his head was in the wrong place.

People can say what they want about Pearce, but mentally, he is a very tough player, he never lets his mistakes get to him he just focuses on the next task.

I call bullshit on that claim until Harrigan actually admits it himself. Did you actually read the article? There are no quotes from Harrigan in there. Only from Sticky including one claim that Harrigan said Smith should have been penalised for "elbowing" Uate in the head. Laughable.

If it is bullshit it will be found out soon enough, until then its on print.

Exactly. Lewis was fighting Tate & someone else. Jenning then clocked Tate. The meantime Pearce clocked Thaiday. All before he came in. There's 6 QLDer's on Bird. That starts it. Scott should of gone as well.

"runs sideways"

somehow still makes 168 metres runnning sideways

the most of both backlines and 2nd in metres gained for both teams, just behind Gallen

Hayne silenced his critics. The bloke is a proven performer at Origin

His critics don't watch the f**king games, that's the problem.

Imagine the outrage if he actually has a bad game in the future, seeing all the criticism he gets when he has a blinder i bet the forum will erupt

I'm surprised people fail to see this. How can you say if GI got a "No-Try" call QLD would have still won? Can you see into the future? You do realize that it changes tha path of the game as position ad mention skew and who knows in an alternate reality we had 7minutes and could have easily scored. The same 7minutes don't play out when something happens so to say "Oh but they didn't
Score in 7mins anyway". Does not matter it would be a different scenario. Are some of you that stupid?

Oh there definitely was. Jennings can consider himself very unlucky, he was only sent off because he looked more dramatic with his f**king superman dive.

If anyone from NSW should have been sinbinned it would be Mitchell Pearce, who entered the fray and was throwing cheeky uppercuts at somebody being held, then turned around and threw 2 at Thaiday

Pearce actions were worse than Jennings every day of the week.

Unless there is a new rule I'm missing out on that says throwing a punch while jumping through the air is less acceptable than throwing a punch on your feet :sarcasm::sarcasm:

NSW lost because they went for a penalty goal from 40 metres out. No other reason.

Queensland would not have held out for another set at their line, and I believe that would have given the Blues all the momentum they needed to close the game out.

Gallen can blow up at the refs all he likes, the reality is it was his decision that cost them the game.

The bad call on the Bird tackle led to a try from the penalty didn't it.

The "Try" to Inglis robbed us of a bick of Origin legend, they talk about trys saved and that was special from where I sat.
