Chin up Blues fans it was a great match. This has been the most competitive side NSW have put out in a while now.
No one else came running in throwing a cheap haymaker at a player not looking. Binning was appropriate. The referee ruined the spectacle for me.
The Jennings sin bin, was a joke, i mean when does anyone get sin binned in Origin? All this talk about Jennings running 40m is ridiculous, i mean everyone ran in from all over the park. Brent Tate would've run just as far to get involved and he took a swing at Luke Lewis. Ref should've blown the penalty to Queensland, chatted to the captains and moved on. That led directly to the first try.
Maybe a little harsh for Origin, but Bird took him past the horizontal. That's the rule on dangerous position penalties. The penalty on the Bird tackle was also a joke, the guy ended up landing on the top of his back, nothing wrong with that in Origin, was a good hard tackle. Again another penalty leading to a Queensland try.
That was a head scratcher, but at least it didn't decide the outcomeThen of course there's the Inglis try which was an absolute joke.
Origin is meant to be the pinnacle where the physicality and toughness goes up another level, we've seen the refs in the past give much more latitude. This ref ruined the game IMO

Um, so did you miss the other 9 players running in including Brent Tate who threw punches?
Why do we keep expecting instant succes from our halves? Carney will come good, unless we're dumb enough to treat him the same way we have all the other halves we've tried and dumped.
Bill Harrigan admits that Inglis try should not have been given and that Bird tackle was not a penalty

I call bullshit on that claim until Harrigan actually admits it himself. Did you actually read the article? There are no quotes from Harrigan in there. Only from Sticky including one claim that Harrigan said Smith should have been penalised for "elbowing" Uate in the head. Laughable.

"runs sideways"
somehow still makes 168 metres runnning sideways
the most of both backlines and 2nd in metres gained for both teams, just behind Gallen
Hayne silenced his critics. The bloke is a proven performer at Origin
