Kearney to leave Parramatta

I'm actually disappointed with the board if this is true.
I respectfully disagree and think the Board have shown great decisiveness, rather the politically easier option not to admit their mistakes.
Hopefully Poupou f**ks off with him.
Let's stop bitching at each other and acting like children. Whoever the Hell gets the gig needs our full support and we need to support each other.

Onwards and upwards, fellow Eels!
Well said HJ. From tomorrow's official announcement that will be my creed as well.
The ony payouts have been to anderson & now kearney. 3p has sacked both of them. i cant see a 3 or 4 million payout there
Incredibly bold choices - in both cases. The Board really needs to make a good appointment now to right the wrong that the Kearney appointment came to represent, in order to come out of this and say the payouts have been worth it.
I'm disappointed TBH. Anyways, life goes on. Bring on someone else to fix the rabble that was there for some time BEFORE Kearney arrived.
 Making the grand final in 2009 was not rabble, compared to what we have become since 2011 under the supercoach. Better change your sig tomorrow grumpy...
Hopefully everyone can now get behind whoever is the new coach.
Look forward to seeing you do that Mickdo, and seeing how long you can go without snidely mentioning Kearney in the future to try and belittle other members? #3amigos
Thanks Captain Obvious. Make sure now you start twisting shit and say how you wanted him gone all along.

Dickhead.
Poor Poupou, gets so much undeserved attention on here, not like he sets out to consciously belittle other members at all... #3amigos
So, out of his two years of coaching, you were happy with the 18 months of ineptness that he provided?
What's the use of mentioning Anderson, when we should all be behind the current coach? You got what you wanted there, so stop whinging! And lets see how long YOU can go in the future without snidely mentioning Kearney to try and belittle other members... #3amigos

jack is dead, wayne and des are probably out of our budget and reach, deans isnt rl and jason taylor is debatable.

List was off the top of my head.

Add in Warren Ryan & Rick Stone. Cleary left the Warriors in good shape. Another rugby coach who left a team in great nick was Ewen McKenzie and he could be a great cross-code coach if it came to that.

I also agree with poupou - Terry Fearnley for sure and Brian Smith wherever he has gone.

Um......have they admitted their mistakes? Or is SK going to wear the whole blame?
Either way, even if SK (rightfully) wears the blame for his spoon (if we can't avoid it from here), then his early departure is an implicit admission that his appointment was a mistake. They might need to articulate it in the election campaigning, but that's either here nor there.

The key is the next appointment, who should be experienced, and who should command respect from players, fans and the Board alike. The past has been divisive, but the future is and should be all about unity.

There you go.

The timing is interesting to say the least.

My guess is that they were forced to push him because of his inability to attract players. Maybe Luke Lewis wanted him gone before his decision ?

Interesting times.

This Board has made two massive calls on head coaches in the space of less than two years - despite the hype the first call was clearly the wrong one for the club to make.

False.

He has remained unemployed, vindicating the board's decision to sack him. Whether the board made the wrong choice in signing Kearney has no bearing on their decision to sack Anderson - they are two separate decisions that must be judged on their own merits.

So this call regarding Kearney's future (and the remedy of the next coach) had better be the right one! After the experiment with a rookie coach/hype artist, as a club we need to now go back to hiring only experienced coaches with records that command respect.

And which coaches' records command respect? The only ones that do are already employed with other clubs and I can't see them jumping ship.

Tony Bongo has become the reincarnation of Casper The Ghost Oct/Nov 2010 onwards.
From that other site..........

NOW THAT THE BOARD HAVE ADMITTED THEY WERE WRONG THEY ALL MUST GO !!!

Stephen Kearney being shown the door is nothing but an admission that it was wrong to sack a perfectly good coach in Daniel Anderson in the first place. Ando should have seen out his contract if they had any brains and if this board had any guts they would have let Kearney see out his.

They interfered with an experienced coach and handed a rookie the keys to the club. They have made a monumental error of judgement that has taken the club we love backwards. I know many are rejoicing right now but I'm not. I'm as mad as hell.

I wasn't a particularly a fan of Kearneys although I support any coach that has our team in his hands but I was a fan of Andersons and the decision to sack them both has cost our club plenty.

I will be supporting the best candidates that stand at the next election and I hope we have some good people put their hand up or this club is still in big trouble.

All those responsible for this must go!

The Parramatta Board did make a poor decision RE: Anderson and Kearney. But they have now finally admitted their mistake

They're bringing Daniel Anderson back to the club are they? Because no other club will give him a job.

Exactly, it was a huge mistake sacking Anderson and bringing in an inexperienced coach.

So much for this rebuilding period, we've had 3 coaches in 5 years, and now its back to square one again.

Unless the decision to sack Anderson was made SO they could sign Kearney.

I'm comfortable with the board's decision in sacking Anderson, signing Kearney and subsequently sacking Kearney. In the cold light of day, they may or may not be right, but at the time I couldn't argue with any of the decisions.
