Has there ever been a more ineffective runner of the pill in the game.

3/4 pace and flop and die.

I've seen more effort to get over the top of your opponent in a badminton tank-a-thon.

Used to groan when wright was selected but he has had a good year

Sure he ain't flash in attack but besides that he is a good fullback

And if you are to tackle him you need to be strong because he can bust a tackle

the bloke is very solid...nothing flash but very safe.

Sure you want a fullback to be an attacking weapon like slater and barb etc...but SAFE and RELIABLE is the first priority...we dont have anyone else that fills that role as well....yet.

let's be fair here, wright has probably been the most conistent player in our team this year

he brings, there abouts, the same game each week, he's no superstar but he does a very good job at the back and im not nervous about his presence there at all when compared to gardner

when you aren't a specialist fullback, it is a very hard position pickup as you need very good positional awareness and you need to be able to take bombs under pressure

this says a lot about matt wright as a player and for those reasons I take my hat off for his efforts

You make the weirdest threads, every f**king week too.
Do you need some kind of attention or do you have an allergy to post in other peoples threads?

Haha yea I was thinking it was a very strange time to create a thread bagging a player.

Im not Wrights biggest fan but f**k me what exactly did he do wrong today?

Whilst he may not have shown us much attacking ability, the bloke is safe as houses in defence and under the high ball and runs the ball back hard. I would like to see him support the forwards a bit more looking for offloads but in general I reckon he is going OK.

No points from our fullback is a weakness in our attack, means others have more pressure on them to create. I dont recall the last time a team won a comp without a fullback that can attack, but I dont think Flanno has any other options.

Well played...you finally didn't give me anything I can show you up on.

You're learning.

Although, we won by 41 - but as it's your best week...

Am I not the only one to notice that we seem to be involving Wright in more set plays over the last couple of weeks?

I feel like he's much more involved in recent weeks then he has been earlier in the season. He's not Billy Slater, but from my view as sideline hack, he's definitely got a tap. Last couple of weeks especially.

Taking nothing away from his steady as she goes play for the last few months, the man gives his all week in, plenty of clubs would give a nut for that effort.

You are taking the piss obviously, but why S73?

He can't run the 100 yard dash quick, but f**k the man can play.

As Bert Newton once said.. " I like the boy "
