A question from somone largely ignorant about sailing...

Is there anyway that they could be disqualified during the race and lose the medal?

Knowing the Olympics that the Aussies have had, anything is possible....

An official could be alerted to the fact that they are in fact Australians about to win a gold medal, in which case they would be immediately disqualified.

They could get Michael Diamond to shoot them out, but he'd probably miss.

With the luck we've had these olympics it will probably happen. Also in the hurdles the woman in the lane next to Sally will probably stack over the first hurdle and inadvertently ankle tap her, costing her the race.
