"A call like that will cost someone a Grand Final on day"

No, honestly. I just don't reckon it was an intentional head shot. Where have you seen any fighting words about this topic?

It doesn't always have to become a drama when forum members have opposite opinions on something....

I know it doesn't.
I've just never heard anyone say it wasn't a penalty try. Until now.
How about you reply to all the other's who also disagree with you?
I look forward to reading your defence to them.

A forum doesn't always have to be about "defence" Suity - discussing football topics is not a matter for attack or defence, or trying to convert everyone to the same viewpoint.

I'm happy that other people have and state differing views about the try. The reason I reply to you and not them, is that you're the only one that in disagreeing saw reason to accuse me of trying to pick a fight .

I was sat in front of it at the game. In my eyes Ainscough (?) was just contesting the ball. Penalty maybe (reckless contact), penalty try... never for mine. But each to their own.

If you think it was worth a penalty then it was foul play that stopped him from scoring. It doesn't matter if it was intentional or not.

If Ainscough wasn't there Smith scores.

Ben Roarty who played in that game (and has also played against you too Springs!) told me as soon as it happened he thought it was a definite penalty try. Bill Harrigan, the ref on the day, also told me that he had no problems in awarding the penalty try. No problems at all..

Craig Smith had a great series for the Storm during the premiership win. He missed the thrashing in game 1 at the hands of St George, kicked a pile of goals against Canterbury in the qualifying final. Intercepted a pass when Eels were on their way to score a try in the preliminary final that cost Parra the win, tackled Mundine early in the second half when he looked like going over from dummy half and then got awarded the penalty try.
From memory, he hadn't played first grade since Round 1 before Chris Anderson brought him back into the side after losing game 1 in the finals. His 'recall' was the turning point of the Storm's season.

BTW...Roarts had a huge wrap on Chris Anderson's coaching of the Storm that season. Was the right bloke at the right time.

I've been to Japan and picked up on some of the local acts there PP... I still remember Glay (who sounded quite good) and Mr Children (bad name for a boy band) plus we saw a ska band called Ska Pontas playing a street gig!

Glay are alright, I prefer FLOW, Theatre Brook, ROOKiEZ is PUNK'D, Nano.ripe, Supercell, Nano, LiSA and fripSide, just to name a few. In my experience people tend to dislike the music initially purely because they don't speak they language.

At least a dodgy call wont really cost anyone the grand final this year -becuase whoever gets there wil have already had the benefit of at least one terrible decision to get there...
