Season 2012 has been a real roller-coaster for us supporters. It started with the optimism of a real tilt at the title under Bluey and ended in tatters. The on-field underperformance has been punctuated by grandiose statements from the owners.
Perhaps the only good thing was the quick termination of Bluey's involvement; though this was followed by the interminable length of the "search for a coach" (aka "waiting for Bellamy's decision") followed by the ludicrous statement from Scurrah that Elliot was the man they were after all along.
The bad: The attitude of a number of the junior players in the squad. The weakness shown to exist in the support staff. The lack of responsibility accepted by Scurrah for the whole fiasco. The marketing of 2013 club memberships under the "loyalty" banner.
The good: The new coach has made some good appointments and the club has made some much-needed signings. Scurrah has handed the role of "football manager" over to someone who knows something about the game.

OK. Roll on 2013.

I just wanted to know where everyone on here is at the moment. Are you feeling optimistic, pessimistic or somewhere in between.

The poll is secret - which way you vote won't be revealed. You may also like to leave a comment and tell me what you feel are the good and bad things to come out of season 2012.

I cant see much changing, to be honest. Same circus, different clowns...

The problem is a much bigger one than player-coach relationships..

I'm in the so so camp....although I am liking more and more Mr Elliott's words. It needs more than words though of course. I think if the expectation is set low enough, then there could be a pleasent surprise. Very senior management has to butt out though..

I think if the up coming season isn't a substantiall improvement on this year gone Uncle Owen and Co may take out the axe in the 'Senior Managment' division... He strikes me as a results man.

I'm sure Wayno is aware of this and is lining up his next scape goat (just in case).

Feeling positive. A few more things need to happen but I feel positive.

Reckon that the coaching team assembled will deliver better results in 2013 than last year, but like most clubs, we will need to decent run of games and certain key players to stay fit.

I still won't be buying any of that shyte replica/training stuff though....

I feel oddly positive - no specific reason why though.

I also feel this way, I imagine a lot of people do.

I think where I'm at mentally is that I don't expect much at all this year. Anything top eight or top four will pleasantly surprise me. And Elliott has done nothing but charm me thus far.

I don't think we'll set the world on fire but it will certainly be an improvement from last season. Probably will narrowly miss out on the eight.

The expectation of a GF win this year won't be on the team and a 7-12 place finish is what most of us probably expect.

6th or 7th.

We have always had the talent; last season we lacked:

1.Fitness - I believe this will be remedied, as we have invested heavily in sports science and training staff.
2.Defensive structure - I will trust in Elliot's NRL nous here.
3.Attitude - Hopefully Iro leaving will help with this... from what I hear, it will.
4.Experience - Sorted with our new recruits. This will also help attitude.
5.Leadership - see above; also change of captaincy/dividing the duties may help.

So yeah. I am picking a dramatic improvement.

I am in the pessimistic brigade (of just me). This is another season of sweeping changes. Two seasons in a row and just as bad PR spin.

Players have stated who they wanted in the coaching hierachy. Didnt work for Bluey, who says it will work for Elliott

Scurrah retains his role.

I would dearly love to be proved wrong next season. I see us qualiying 8th if we are lucky.

I still take offence to people blaming Tony Iro.
From "what I hear" lol.

Yes - Attitude is a problem...but blaming it on Iro lol

It's nice to be optimistic...and in a weird way I do as well (But I usually do that at the start of every season though Lol).
I guess my so-so attitude is in response to the disappointment this year...the excitement then fall of a likeable coach you wanted to do well...the classy way he exited (like him or loathe him he left with dignity IMO)...the self serving and self preservation antics of various staff with their 'extensive' review consisting of going into a room and saying 'it's all Blueys fault we did alright aye?'...the attitudes of players who we now know did not front for their coach/club/teammates/fans...

As far as I'm concerned I'm an ex fan who needs winning back. **** loyalty, they've had that since '95. I like the coach and wish him the best- and if he can get some of these young players to drop their 'tudes, put in the yakka and give it their best I might forget some of the arsehole management and put the fan gear back on

Am feeling positive, some good staff appointments and more than we have had previously, now I want a good preseason with no injuries please and maybe a couple of more signings if we are lucky. Further to this anything is better than how I felt through July and August etc.
