Yeah where have we seen that before *cough* gordon, lewis, jennings, pritchard

I always talked pretty highly about those guys except for Pritchard, who just doesn't put in enough work to warrant his price tag

Lol at doggiesbro trying to justify his club signing a player who hasn't played a game yet 330k a season! That is wayyyyy to much for a debutant. Need we remind ourselves of Karl Filiga he has huge expectations on him was signed for a massive amount for a debutant and the pressure got to him.

Still reserved on klezmer

Just remember dominatin in Toyota cup isn't exactly a great indication of a players ability. There is a huge difference between NRL and TYC

Think it's safe to say that with this signing and rumours of Sam Williams close to a deal thurston isn't going to be a bulldog

I don't think 330k is overs for this kid when he was toyota cup player of the year and has trained the whole pre-season with the first grade team and has really impressed des. And if you compare his price to some other players like Sandow $550k Idris $500k Taylor $500k Lussick $270k and consider the cap rise its a good signing.

I think Penrith are building a pretty good side tbh.

Agreed. Cleary to me is somewhat from the Moneyball school of coaches. Key players in key areas, and players who do important and often undervalued parts of the game well. I think his recruitment for the Panthers will build them up for the long term.

Top coach IMO.

Agreed

Just saying though he's an upgrade with plenty of potential to get better.

If Bellamy was after him he must have some talent right?

He's played test football already. IMO he has a lot of talent. He's adaptable - I recall sitting at CUA Stadium a few years ago when the Warriors NYC team was playing PEnrith (Coote was playing for Penrith). The Warriors were copping a bit of a touch up, but Taylor looked a class above. I used to like Cooper Vuna as a player as well simply for his balance as a ball runner, and Taylor had similarities in his ability to step a player with the ball being held in one hand. Obviously at the NRL level its hard to pull that stuff off, and he focused on his defence. He'll get through a ton of work. He's got some defensive issues I noticed when teams went on a long spread against the Warriors, sometimes as the team would slide, Taylor would square his shoulders up and stop sliding for a second, and bring the team out of alignment.

Good talent, no doubt. Hope he fulfils it under Uncle Ivan.

I've always advocated that clubs should have cap concessions for players they iniate into the NRL, maybe it
would be better if coaches brought concessions with them. Taylor clearly is intent on maintaining Cleary's
guidance if the Warriors claim to have 'done all they can' is correct. Seems coaches are more than just a
singular purchase.

FFS try keeping this to actual signings and not the crap that is the last three pages, it's a pain to have to sift through a whole page of BS for to read about one or two signings.

[FONT=verdana,Arial]Eels snap up Norman
Corey Norman will officially be an Eel in 2014 - and will tell the Broncos as much sometime within the next few days. After missing out on Raiders star Josh Papalii, who signed with Parra before backing out of the deal last week, the Eels went all out for Norman. They have thrown a massive $450,000 a season at the boom utility back - money the Broncos simply couldn't match. And don't think the Papalii saga is over - fuming Parra officials are looking into possible legal action after the back-rower pulled out of his rich deal with the Eels.

Surely not.

As for legal action against the Raiders... to quote John McIntyre - "You'd better get a good lawyer"

450k for Corey Norman is just crazy and the broncos would have been out of their minds to even consider matching that. Parra remind me of the stupid gambler at the casino whos just lost a few big hands and is angrily throwing more money on the table. Theyve missed out on every big name theyve gone after and are now just desperate to sign someone, anyone, even if it means throwing double the money they should be at them.

Broncos shouldnt be too concerned about this loss.

The kid is basically a younger version of Ben Roberts. Flashes of brilliance once or twice a year
