Best Press Conference on footy I have seen in years. No dancing around the issues.

no dancing in the dark either :sarcasm:

Money well spent.

I don't normally blame the refs as generally their poor decisions even out over 80 minutes and usually teams win the penalty count because they're playing better.

So when I watched the game I thought the Titans were holding us down and being grubby in the ruck and getting away with it. That was in the first half.

Then I was called away to work, and thought if we get our share of the refs in the second half that we would run away with it. Wrong.

Sticky's tirade was very unprofessional, but maybe that's what this club needs. We certainly need a bit more merkin about us on the field and maybe that needs to start at the top as well.

Just watched the press conference. Just sensational. Loved how he said the NRL is corrupt without actually saying it. Nothing will change. We will still get a shit go of it and Storm, Souffs etc will get it all their own way.

Parramatta Eels coach Ricky Stuart fined $10,000 for ref rant

Ricky Stuart hits out at refs after loss

Parramatta Eels coach Ricky Stuart has slammed NRL referees, claiming his side face unfair adjudicating every week.

UPDATE: PARRAMATTA coach Ricky Stuart has been fined $10,000 over his extraordinary seven-minute tirade against referees, in which he claimed his side faced unfair adjudicating every week because his Eels are "easy to penalise".

Stuart was furious after a 12-4 penalty count, including 8-1 in the second half, cost his team victory when the Titans scored the last 20 points at Skilled Park.
He noted that the referees Adam Gee and Jason Robinson were the same pair who attracted criticism from Wests Tigers coach Mick Potter last week.
The former NSW and Test coach said his side was easy prey because it doesn't have the superstars who could milk penalties.
"It's only because they're a very easy team to penalise," Stuart said. "We don't have any of the higher-profile players where you can milk the penalty.
"It's bullshit. I just feel so sorry for the players.
"I really don't know where Daniel Anderson and these referees are taking the game. There are referees there that are interpreting a different game of football to other referees."
Stuart agreed his side did concede fair penalties, he just couldn't fathom the opposition were not guilty of indiscretions.
And he said his captains - Reni Maitua and Jarryd Hayne - were unable to get clear explanations from officials.
"They were actual penalties, I'm not blowing up about that, but there's no way they were that clean," he said.
"It's just wrong. It was unfair tonight and I really feel sorry for the players. That out there tonight was very, very obvious.
"Jarryd and Reni, they go to the referee, they ask for an explanation and they get an explanation in friggen Spanish. There's no explanation to a lot of the actual rulings.
"The game is turning into a surrender, dive on the ground, play the ball, let's go again. It's getting into the Super League era. It's going backwards."
A key argument by Stuart was a Chris Sandow pass to Kelepi Tanginoa being ruled forward early in the second half.
"The pass was too good for the ref," he said. "You talk first-grade standards. Everybody has to get to first-grade standards. We sit here and have to front the media. Well, get those referees in here to talk about their bullshit errors."
The NRL issued a breach notice fining the Eels $10,000 for Stuart's comments tonight.
“Coaches are allowed to question or criticise decisions but there are some clear boundaries that every club should be aware of,” General Manager of Football Operations Nathan McGuirk said.

“We believe that on this occasion those boundaries were breached.”

So who foots the bill? On this occasion I'm happy for the club to pick up the tab. Money well spent I say!

Taken me until tonight to calm down after that game. Stuart has made it a bit easier. One thing has been obvious to me, you don't build a successful team in the NRL unless you get a coach who regularly canes the referees in press conferences. Well done Ricky, $10k well spent, and keep it up on the f**kwits.

See - I keep seeing this statement about mongrel.......if you watched the game - Ryan James was a grub all night - especially at one point during a scrum with Allgood. What was good to see - Allgood didnt stand there n cop it - he gave it back.....Lussick was being a mad bastard all night too - especially when it came to James - and during that exchange with Allgood - wanted to get involved too.....

Good to see the two young guys starting to stand up - and good to see Ricky absolutely give it to the Referees I reckon.....

Well at least we have a coach that can get fired up on the team's behalf.
FMD it was painful sitting through Kearney's 'I don't give a f**k' attitude.

i think this week was just the straw that broke the camels back with sticky

ok some of the penalties were bullshit but a lot in that 2nd half caning were justified and just came down to ill discipline

if the refs are penalising you already dont give them an excuse to do it even more by your own stupidity

So what about the Titans getting penalised just once? Were they little angels or something?

His point was that penalty and incapable refs were just a small part of the big picture - namely that parra, as a team, are complete and utter shit atm.

We can make up any kind of excuse we want, be the apologetic we want to be, but it doesn't deter from the main issue that the team is still very far from being competitive, both in paper and in performance.

PS. I do agree that the many small factors are going against us, but seriously, I get the feeling much of this whinging is just a farce to avoid the reality of the team lol.

Best 10k ever spent! Last night bordered on cheating, the Titans were committing the same crimes as us yet only one side was penalised in the second half.......

I love how the NRL just send a fine rather than actually address the issues, commission, pft

Best shit i have ever seen!! well done ricky, love it!! imagine if Kearney was still here, he would've just stared endlessly at nothing with murmurs of 'we did some good things out there tonight' or 'lads played well' or some other useless shit like that whilst picking his arse.

i agree the refereeing was extremely one sided but when the refs are giving you a hammering already you can't affford to give away even more blatant penalties that are 100% avoidable

its extremely hard (ok near impossible i admit) but you need to take the emotion out of it and just work your way back into the game

The Referers are utterly f**kign useless, ffs, the game isn't rocket science, how can these morons f**k up so badly ALL THE TIME.

We are an easy target as ricky said, it just is convenient for refs to penalise us

I reckon Kearney's stench very much still lingers at Para, and i think the reason we get penalised so much is that the refs just f**king hate Kearney, they still reckon he is here somewhere...
