Greenberg to become deputy NRL CEO in management restructure

That's bullshit.

I was in Commonwelth Bank the other day and Ian Narev served me behind the teller when I made a deposit. Also when I rang Telstra to sort out some billing issues David Thodey was sorting it out for me on the other end of the phone.

David Smith needs to be at the beck and call of the media so they know his opinion of Hodges hamstrings, SBW boxing career and why crowds are so 'poor' (despite trending much higher than last year).

Haha

He also needs to respond to Rayyyyyyyyyy Hadley

Why would you need money to restructure, organise and streamline an organisation?

You need money to attract a good CEO and other such key position, which is what we've got and now starting to do.

Gallop couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

Hiring people cost, punting people just for a restructure cost, new salaries etc, there is a lot. They are probably paying someone to tell them how to restructure.

If these business units have just been created, who on earth were in charge of them in the first place.? Was the NRL run like a chook raffle before?

How the hell is this guy 'embattled'? Because Ray Hadley tells us so?

Classic example of media manipulation. The media doesn't like someone. So they come out and say that everyone doesn't like him, that he's under pressure, etc. Then suddenly the peons of the world who don't have a brain go 'wow! He's under pressure! Thank god I listen to Raaaaay or I'd assume he was doing a good job!'.

And another thing, how the f**k does anyone on here claim to know if hiring him was a good or bad move. I have no earthly idea of whether or not it was. Nor does anyone here. The only ones who think they do are the idiots who still think it's 1967 and that we should have appointed someone from within the football fraternety. Lets whack Mark Geyer or Freddy Fittler in there and see how well they go?

How on earth you can judge a man 6 rounds into his first season in the job when we've already seen things like record crowds baffle me. Yes, the City/Country ticket situation was a f**kup. But it's not like he was personally sitting in his office going 'hmmmm.... $50. Yeah. That'll do. Get the CRL on the line'.

They may have employed a management consulting firm to assist, who knows.

Mind you, I think David Smith is also experienced and knowledgeable enough to know a thing or two about organisational management and structure.

Obviously part of it takes decent money (new employees, salaries, etc). And by money, I mean the ability to lure high class candidates and offer levels of remuneration that is competitive with other sports in the Australian landscape. If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

Part of it doesn't take much at all if any, and should've been part of Gallop's job. But hey, Gallop was probably one of the monkeys.

It's great to see we are finally moving to a proper corporate structure. How the f**k we went 15 years without a COO and especially a CFO I will never know. I would love someone from the previous administration to answer that

questions,
*what are th chances of Steven dank new CEO of the Dogs and rekindling his relationship with des?
*with Greenberg possibly leaving the Dogs will malcolm noad return to grab another wooden spoon?
*Im guessing Des won the power struggle that apparently they told us never existed, between him and toddy?

Good textbook answer.

How many firms have you restructured?

Can't bedgrudge the man for going onwards and upwards, he did a terrific job with the rabble he was left with. He will be great for the game.

I wonder if all the Greenberg critics become fans overnight now that he's not in charge of the Dogs?

Where does it say he's deputy, apart from a few hacks in the press? It certainly was announced nor is it his official title.

The COO is probably ahead of him.
