unfortunately the lack of quality cattle you have mentioned is Price's doing...
this is the list of players he has signed the last 2 seasons:

Chase Stanley - rubbish
Daniel Vidot - discipline issues
Josh Miller - rubbish
Leason Ah Mau - rubbish
Vea - rubbish
Latimore - good backup but then we let him leave
Will matthews - average
Denan Kemp - rubbish
Peter Cronin - rubbish
Beale - pea heart to replace pea heart Moltzen
Frizzell (decent)
Drinkwater - potential
Harrison - rubbish
Henderson - rubbish

so 14 players and only about 2 or 3 of first grade quality...
Do we actually know if Price had anything to do with these signings,as we know he hasn't been part of recruiting for next season.
And Beale isn't a pea heart ,our backline had a sense of stability till he got injured and Henderson was signed for depth and has been sound when he has played.
I am thinking much of our frustration should be leveled out at the management. You try working with the boss continually looking over your shoulder.

I still don't think our squad is to blame. If Price had Sezer, Josh Reynolds, Adam Reynolds,Albert Kelly, in the squad, he would still pick Fein and Soward ahead of them. Safety options. Does not roll the dice. As we are now seeing with Quinlan not getting a run.

If De Belin, Quinlan, Cummins, Runciman were in another team or under a different coach they would definately be getting more game time.

Browny was the best at bringing up youth hence why Bennett had so much success.

For me, our spine is the major problem and has been for a while. Melbourne and Manly have been able to maintain their momentum because they have quality halves/hookers. We don't. If you rated Fein against all other NRL halfbacks where would he come in? Last? If you rated Rein where would he come? Bottom 2-3. Soward on last two years form would also come close to bottom 2-3. We do not have enough class in key positions to compete. No direction. No vision. You can carry some average forwards and outside backs but when all your key positions are weak, then your stuffed which is where we are. Widdop coming in is a start but that is next year. If we could get Chase and Dugan then we might be able to turn things around this year, otherwise we have no hope of making the 8.

Rein would not be bottom, he is surely up there in the top 8 hookers at least. Fein and Sowad would be bottom in terms of halves combinations based on form but on experience up there with the best. They have won a GF, Fein has won tests, World Cup with NZ.

As for fullback Beale was doing OK till he got injured. Nighty isn't doing that bad. Spine is good compared to other sides.

Titans have a spine of Srma, Zillman, Kelly and Sezer which on paper looks weak but on form one of the best when they have all been on the field.

Saint's roster is better than people think. Don't just look at the players that get selected. They have good players but they are not given a fair go, whilst others play crap and keep getting selected.

anyone with fox, the cutters are on live sat 1.00pm, quinlan at fullback, and drinkwater will be interesting to see how both go.

The longer this lousy reputation that we have continues with players rejecting us and nonsensical game plans and styes of play it only heightens the portrayal of Wayne Bennett's influence and how we are perceived as a club in the wider rugby league community. If we keep missing out on finals because we didn't use our cap then I just don't think that makes us look very good or instil pride in Dragons supporters let alone the players who do all the hard work and put in the effort each game.

I will put my faith in Price but he has to soon deliver in terms of recruitment and selection, have us with the strongest squad possible and the best team on the park. We know the coach has a huge influence on recruitment. Players want to be part of a winning team, not just the $. When Kyle Stanley went down you would have saw Bennett look outside for an immediate replacement for the halves with Fien on the bench.

Precisely, risks are by there very nature risky, but it needs to happen anyway, players need to perform, though tbh im confused what Price actually expects players to do anyway, is there a gameplan? Is someone not following said gameplan?

Do we actually know if Price had anything to do with these signings
Tbh if Price just sat by and had no input into the lack of signings in the last 3 years, then thats on him, its why I wanted us to sign a coach with balls, hes the one who takes the flack if he cant get his team to perform, not his mates on the board.

Social Media or footy? No contest really.

Why do the whole footy long term self development thing, with megabuck as the ultimate outcome, when you can bask in the social media limelight for five minutes, without being tarnished by filthy money.

To the degree players like Soward and Fien do a lot more with the ball and the forwards work a little hard in defence.

Price gets a lot of the blame but surely the players need a good look at them selves and realise they need to do more.

Price give Drinkwater a go tap Fien on the shoulder tell him your time is up we need to move on see if he is worth keeping for next year as a partner for Widdop or look elsewhere.

Im starting to wonder if Price is just really shy, he seems very very uncomfortable in front of the camera, maybe hes a deer in the headlights.

Personally i dont hate the idea of re-signing Price... i think he has been handed a team that was full of potholes in terms of key players missing...

I think one more year could make or break him... the players seem to love him... he must be doing something right for them atleast..
