I don't get how Gallen gets a grade 2 striking and Josh Mcguire gets a grade 1 for his dog shot on Mitchell Allgood.

The difference? I dunno.

It wasn't proceeded by a swinging arm to the head.

Grading is fair, doesn't benefit Queensland any though.

Yeah I thought it deserved 10.

Charge is fair.

People get caught up in the emotion of it all way too much. Bad calls happen every game. Whine when it happens then move on. Maybe once or twice a year is a ref's decision the most defining moment in a game.

Did you agree with the ruling Big Pete?

With shrugging it off he was giving a green light to QLD to fire back with no threat of a send off, surprisingly they chose not too.

Bad place for the ref to put himself.

Personally, yes but then again I'm bias when it comes to fighting in Origin and hate it when referees bear too much influence on the game. I like to see the players sort it out between themselves.

However, taking my agenda out of it and following the modern direction of the game it definitely deserved 10. This wasn't a typical brawl, there was only one party at fault and it wasn't from Queensland. The Maroons weren't going to receive much of a benefit out the penalty they received and that should have been taken into consideration too.

Loved it as a NSWmen & even just as an Origin fan regardless of allegiance, but objectively, it was one of many favours we got tonight.

Does that mean Tate can punch Jennings at any time and tell the refs it's payback for last year so it's allowed.

The fact he didn't get sin binned was purely a sympathy decision. I think the higher ups have decided that enough is enough and NSW need to win this year.

Well Jennings would have to be pinned down by 3 other queenslanders at the time before Tate would consider throwing that punch.

Don't ask slater and Smith to do it, they seem to have trouble bringing jenko down

You're a QLDer, you wouldn't understand the passion us Blues have for Origin, two heroic players returning from injury for their state etc. etc. etc.

Swinging arm shot didn't look great, but it wasn't that bad either. 1 week at the absolute max.

As for the follow up - pfft, this is origin. Myles squared him up, kicked things off and Gal responded. If only the Qlders put that sort of fire and effort into the match, we mightn't have had our arses handed to us.

Can't wait for game two.

Gallen was right. Myles had used his big noggin - leading with the head in tackles. Plus several canetoads were guilty of leg twists and leg pulls in tackles. The refs obviously ignored it so Gal sought his own vigilante justice.

Which QLD players? When were these incidents?

Yeah but even Chuck Norris couldn't crack that massive noggin. Forehead like a drive-in theatre.

He can't be given 10 in the sin bin for that. Foul play cannot be punished by the use of the sin bin, as the current rules are. However, I think that if he got 10 in the bin - that would have been appropriate (& final) punishment for the incident. The rules probably need to be changed.

The sin bin is to be used for professional fouls such as excessively holding down of a player after a long break to allow the defence to assemble. They didnt sin bin Cronk, so they are not going to sin bin Gallen.
