or re-sign him, which we can do up until Round 13 irrespective of what he does or doesnt sign with brisbane.

So he can sign with Brisbane for 2015, but the Raiders have the power to deny him a contract, even though he'll be off-contract, and force him to sign with the Raiders.. what..

He can sign a contract for the Broncos for 2015, however it will not be registered with the NRL until round 13 in 2014. He could sign a contract for the Broncos tomorrow and the Raiders have until Round 13 2014 to convince him to stay at the Raiders, and if they are successful the NRL will register the Raiders contract, not the Broncos one.

Perhaps you were living under a rock during the Parramatta-Papalii saga

Yep, and the Raiders have no qualms at implementing bullying tactics against their own players, not to mention Milford is friends with Papali...

id suggest the only bullying tactics implemented were those of Parramatta who had correctly heard Papalii was keen to stay and released a premature statement about how he was signed, sealed and delivered. They were warned to hold off, they knew he was likely to back out. They went ahead anyway hoping media backlash would prove too much for Papalii to deal with...
They then went on a media blitz attempting to bully him into honouring a deal that wasn't legally binding under NRL guidelines and spent several weeks digging a nice big "we're a pack of incompetent hacks" hole for them to claw their way out of. Which i note they are still struggling to get out of (in fairness they had made a very nice start on this hole long before the Papalii debacle)

Good plan save for the fact it would require sydney media to actually give a shit about Canberra, which they dont. So he was able to slink away, get the money he wanted, from the team he wanted without so much as a media whimper.

If you think you can get him to stay, go for it, if it backfires you're only further developing his game for the Broncos in 2015 (If he signs.. of course)

Absolutely toxic culture down in Canberra. They bully their young star kids into staying at the club, after seeking legal advice on the matter, so they can't leave.

If Furner took notice that Maguire was prepared to move Sutton to keep Keary happy he'd put Milford at half where he belongs, do himself a favour at the same time and keep McCrone away from decisions. Milford is probably sending Furner a message and if he doesn't wise up he's only got himself to blame

Milford isnt a half at this stage of his career. Undoubtably, should his ball playing skills continue to develop he will end up as a 5/8th but for now his best position is most definitely fullback.

Yeah dont know why youd want to lumber outrageous attacking talents like Milford with organising and defensive duties as well as largely restricting there freedom.

Leave him at FB, for most of his career. as far Im concerend

That's quite a salary cap the Rabbitohs have got!

What exactly is wrong with our cap? We haven't made any signings, we are only performing retention while also losing a ton of players.

Losses: Farrell, Starling, Asotasi, Peats

Gains: None

Re-signed: Turner, Burgess, Burgess, Burgess, McQueen, Sutton, Walker, Tyrrell, Goodwin

Doubt we'll sign anyone, probably re-sign a few more but realistically we'll have a small squad next year.
