The best and worst captains in the NRL are standouts with the remaining no good enough to break into the top echelon or bad enough to be considered amongst the worst.

Best

1. Cam Smith
2. Jamie Lyon
3. Paul Gallen
4. Anthony Minichello / Sam Thaiday

Worst

13. Ben Creagh
14. Mick Ennis
15. Jarryd Hayne
16. Dave Shillington

Any opinions ?

Thaiday is not a great captain...

Ennis is a grub but actually sticks up for his team with the refs which is more than Hayne or Shiilo do or have done...

Mick Ennis is the most overrated player in the NRL, and by far the worst captain.
Seriously what does he offer ? He might stick up for his players, but has no respect for officials, and he is shocking example to young children.

His behaviour this year in a struggling team, has been nothing short of horrific. He is a disgraceful leader, and should never captain a team again, beyond this season.

His own form in the past 18 months has been diabolical. He is pushing 30, had absolutely no pace. His service from dummy half is sluggish, and how he ever played origin is a mystery.

His selection for the blues, was a joke, up there with the worst selections in history.

Mini has been a great find as a captain. In his first year , he has lead the team well, despite the roosters having issues with discipline. He treats refs with respect, unlike Ennis, who treats them like shit.

Cameron smith is number one.

Was absolutely shocked when Sam Thaiday was given the captaincy at the Broncs in front of Corey Parker. Nothing has changed.

Was honestly expecting Thaiday bottom 4, he's been pretty average as a captain.

Every man and his dog knows that Parker should have been captain.

Speaks well to ref, leads by example, does the hard work when the goings tough and has a good media presence.

Can't argue this. However, who else would you hand the captaincy to in that team?

What makes a good captain? How is Mini there
Australian Rep Golden Boot winner MOM in Origin GF winner 2002

What a resume , what a career what a champion.

Mini has led the Chooks to the top of the league this season.

His form has been fantastic and is an inspiration to the younger players with his courage on and off the field.

Mini is respectful of officials and being a one club man is loved by all

Obvious choice

That's a tough question to answer.
The candidates are Josh Reynolds , James Graham, and one from left centre...josh morris.

You couldn't pick Reynolds, because he too is a grub. Graham, you couldn't understand him, plus he is a dog. What he did in the GF was a disgraceful act. He should have received 12 months, not 12 weeks.
No one in their forward pack has the brains to be a captain. So that leaves just Josh Morris.

Michael Ennis has been doing a brilliant job of captaining the Bulldogs
Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know a thing about Rugby League

He always gets in the ears of referees without ever crossing the boundary

The fact you have Thaiday in the top 5 shows that you have no idea.

ps. How did that 'Dogs want SBW' thread go for you ?

Not the most desirable job in the NRL bad enough having to play for them!

Imagine being the face of the current Dogs .... representing the club and it's feral fans...
