How successful would it be if we signed him (knowing that a court case was outstanding) and that court case not going so well?

I really can't see him doing time, so as far as playing for us, unless the NRL slapped a ban on him, it wouldn't matter a sh*t.

Even if they did put some sort of ban on him, it isn't going to be anything that great, you can bet on that. ;-)

Of the five players awarded player of the year honours one is no longer playing NRL and the other four have struggled or are struggling to establish themselves in the NRL. Ben Hunt has only this season managed to hold his place as a halfback as opposed to a utility.

We have had players 'make' the side twice and Tony Williams is playing pooh at the Dogs and Cheyse Blair will move to his third club in three years.

Making the side doesn't assure you that your recruiting has been good.

That's beside the point Colonel. A club like Parra should always have some standout junior in any given season. This is the worst era that I can remember for all our grades bar none. We are shit!

Suspended indefinitely apparently.
He's only doing this to get out of Canberra. I say it's time the NRL steps in and suspends him as well. It's clear he wants to come back to Sydney. Ban him from the NRL. He can f**k off to England, or not play at all. This is totally unacceptable. He shouldn't be allowed to just waltz off to another NRL club 'cause he wants to.

Agreed. The fact Dugan was allowed to be signed by the Dragons and then walk straight back into the the Blues side gives the message to other players they can play up and benefit from it. If players are sacked for repeated disciplinary reasons someone in the NRL needs to have some balls so the players are punished sufficiently and not rewarded with a rich new contract.

We have had four teenagers debut in first grade this year. Only Canberra matches us there, and they have the best 'academy' in the game.

We had three players selected in the Australian Schoolboys side. Two of those players also made the Union Schoolboys side.

We had three players selected for the NSW Origin Under 20's side. One of that same 17 will join our club next season.

For Qld, one of our players was 18th man.

A "team of the year" is one thing. Selection in teams that are an actual achievement are another. They are more of a standout.

Our junior recruitment is IMO one of our few positives but because we didn't chase Jackson Hastings, who could just well be another Josh Lewis for the Roosters you are carrying on like your throat was cut.

They did try Paul Osborne once upon a time... that seemed to work out well!

He never had a firm nrl administration career like Annesley - 10 years as director of footy / chief operating officer with the nrl - a lot more experience then Paul had

Hahahahahahahahaha...

You are kidding right? I wonder, lets think why did we have so many teenage debuts this year? Hmmmm, thinking, thinking, thinking...

I take your points Colonel, you make a lot of valid ones, but it is no surprise to me that we have no player representative in our club for team of the year, because by enlarge our u20's has been going sh*t for years now and if anything seems to be getting worse and that's my point.

As for running around like my throats been cut because we didn't sign Hastings is way to narrow a thought or suggestion.

I am running around like my throats been cut because we haven't chased, signed and kept ANY potential great junior playmakers for years and there in lies our greatest problem.

And don't give me the line that they are rare and all clubs struggle to fine them because that is total shit.

The latest from a long string of ignorant failures is that little gem that is now playing for the Bunnies. Luke Keary. His passing game has been a real standout whenever he comes on and it is no surprise that the Rabbitohs have found it so much easier to score each and every time he has come onto the field.

But the point here is how the hell did we manage to stuff up the identification of another promising playmakers talent again? Also is it any wonder as to why we are so woeful in the juniors when they don't have a decent ball player among them to direct and give them opportunities?

Hey, TheRam, the reason none of our under 20s Origin players were picked in the team of the year is because three of them were playing higher grades from early in the season. The fourth (Folau) isn't even 19 yet.

As for our NYC getting worse, that is also bullshit - they ran last in 2010. I dare say if our NRL side was better our teenagers would still be in NYC and they would be finals bound.

And finally Keary - he wasn't good enough for any NRL club which is why he was playing for Burleigh when Souths found him. That means neither the Titans nor Broncos wanted him.

The only reason he is able to get a start in first grade at the moment is because Souths have such a dominant pack. If he was at Parra he would be like a faster, weaker Luke Kelly.

Keary played for NSWCIS in 2010. While he made the Australian Schoolboys Union side the NSWCIS were flogged 70-6 by the NSWCHS. I would guess that until he went back to Griffith university in 2011 he was able to play in a side that better showcased his talents. It happens and particularly when a player is in a side that is walloped by big scores it is unlikely he will be seen.

Just on the NYC squad, we have never played a full strength team all season, we have had on average 6 players missing from the squad all year,.. Last Sunday we rolled Melbourne with 12 players sitting in the sideline and went close to Brisbane the week before, we've basically used our second string squad all season.. Just sayin

Round 1 was about the only time we had anywhere near our top side and we whooped the Warriors. Kelepi would have walked into the the u20's side if he played all year.
