We had three players selected in the Australian Schoolboys side. Two of those players also made the Union Schoolboys side.
We had three players selected for the NSW Origin Under 20's side. One of that same 17 will join our club next season.
For Qld, one of our players was 18th man.
A "team of the year" is one thing. Selection in teams that are an actual achievement are another. They are more of a standout.
Our junior recruitment is IMO one of our few positives but because we didn't chase Jackson Hastings, who could just well be another Josh Lewis for the Roosters you are carrying on like your throat was cut.
I take your points Colonel, you make a lot of valid ones, but it is no surprise to me that we have no player representative in our club for team of the year, because by enlarge our u20's has been going sh*t for years now and if anything seems to be getting worse and that's my point.
As for running around like my throats been cut because we didn't sign Hastings is way to narrow a thought or suggestion.
I am running around like my throats been cut because we haven't chased, signed and kept ANY potential great junior playmakers for years and there in lies our greatest problem.
And don't give me the line that they are rare and all clubs struggle to fine them because that is total shit.
The latest from a long string of ignorant failures is that little gem that is now playing for the Bunnies. Luke Keary. His passing game has been a real standout whenever he comes on and it is no surprise that the Rabbitohs have found it so much easier to score each and every time he has come onto the field.
But the point here is how the hell did we manage to stuff up the identification of another promising playmakers talent again? Also is it any wonder as to why we are so woeful in the juniors when they don't have a decent ball player among them to direct and give them opportunities?
