Here is another thought, when TheFilthySpammers ran the campaign to get of the board on the strict understanding it would do everything including solve world poverty , where are we now?

DF was mooching around again tonight, bailing up board members in the Stadium box, I wouldn't trust him or them with fixing anything, he believes the club is his baby, and the big thing remains he hates Spags more than he loves the club

I will say it again, he will come out of this poorly, will probably try and blame the club and board issues, but that is friggin weak as water

When a club places its faith in you as an individual , in rebuilding and attracting players, it a shithouse response if he goes

I agree with Avenger, if that is what you think of our club,. go already

Thanks brother. I'm not trying to be an antagonist, I just want some direct commitment from the coach to the guy who vacuums the club after we all go home. My 11 year old boy had tears in his eyes when we won tonight. It's been a tough year. I love this club. I just want it to succeed.

Same reason MR Bennett stays out of media, they make that much up to sell a paper and get a quote, why feed them?
He is also not happy with 1 or 2 board members, as are most supporters, the board need to come together or F**k off the ones who don't care, your causing more harm then good. He is probably trying to make a point.

In the press conference after the Dragons game tonight I did not see the normal passionate, intense, focused, fully behind the Eels RS, what I saw was a stumbling, partly mumbling, nervous RS. It appeared his heart was not focused, not there behind the Eels. So unless he is really playing more "mind games" with the board to get his way, it appears he is leaving to join the Raiders.

Does RS have a get out clause in his contract if someone like Spags was no longer chairman?

Or is RS involved with other board members/etc, in routing out/exposing and getting rid of one or two board members, hence saying very little lately about his plans which provides the bait for the troublemaker/s to continue being baited and caught in the act of pushing to destroy the credibility of the current board (certain members) and our club?

So we are still analysing Stuart's words and mannerisms at press conferences?

What a hypocrite.

I really have no idea what Stuart is going to do or what he is scheming.
And you will have noticed that I have not written him off or turned him into a bad guy, a foe to hate and unload all my negative feelings upon.
I just commented on a remarkable change in attitude/behaviour, one I've not seen before.
Why the dramatic change is what I've been speculating on. Maybe he wasn't well.
I want him to stay and continue with rebuilding this club but I get it if the background infighting and destabilization of our club has Ricky thinking of leaving.

Just seen the presser. I'm not reading anything into that Lol. Bulldog asked are you here next year? And Ricky smiled and said do you want me to be here? Which I think is a stick at the media constantly writing up speculation. And i agree let the off field shit get sorted after our next game. The boys have been told by Stuart he is staying and I'm sure they all just want to get on with the game next week.

Just seen sefpaulo interview by Andy Raymond and Raymond said it must have been hard with all the speculation about Ricky and the board this week. Sef said at the start of the week Ricky took the guys aside and said how he's committed

Love that everyone missed that lol

Noooooo...not worth the paper they are written on..
Every coaching appointment should be a yearly contract, sealed with a hand shake...
Jack Gibson, Michael Cronin operated on hand shake deals...If it is good enough for them, it should be good enough for some of these 'pie eaters' posing as footballers and coaches these days. Prima Donnas....

Pete, as I've pointed out before the vast majority of NRL contracts run to their completion. And when players/coaches have clauses in their contracts that allow for release under certain conditions, and they exercise those rights, they are complying with the contract that is written on paper. You were trying to make the same point with Ferguson and Milford, yet in both cases their behaviour reflects the content of their contract....Milford's is a little murkier as the clause isn't a black/white 'get out'.

There's nothing special about NRL contracts, and there's nothing special about modern contracts.....some people have always been happy to work on a handshake deal, and some people have played silly buggers....the only difference in this recent tabloid furore about 'contract not being worth the paper they're written on' is the amount of $$ we are talking about and the number of bogans who they can incite by peddling half-truths about what breaking a contract means.

Couldn't agree more. However what happened to his plan/vision? All too hard or is the money on offer from the Raiders just too good ?

If the Raiders really did offer him 7 years $7mill, then he'd be a lunatic not to take it.

If that's on the table, surely nobody can begrudge him taking it?

I'm confused as to why the rumour is still doing the rounds though...

but he IS feeding it ...... flattly denying it would be not feeding them

maybe he is playing games with the board??? .... but if many want him gone, isn't that just inflaming the situation and asking for more trouble? if they don't want him, they will want him even less if he looks like he is gonna go

I think he's just buying time while the raiders sort out what they want to do

He has already told the playing group he will stay.
I'm still told as of tonight he is staying.

So what would your opinion be of Sticky, after saying all that, if he upped and left after next week?

People pick and choose what to believe on here. Direct quotes like that mean nothing on here it's the rumours people believe

The Canberra board of predominantly ex senior public servants needs to show transparency with a coaching selection process.

I wonder if he is using the supposed Canberra offer to ask for a similar extension to 7 years from Parra, it would bring into context the question of a coaching review at this early stage in his contract?

I do not believe we should play into this with him as next years performance should be what we judge him on if he is still here. If that means we loose him then he was not the right person for the job of rebuilding us anyway.
