Also an extra 4th round pick, plus the the Steelers 3rd from the last draft. Browns are loaded next draft.

The Browns have effectively give up on the 2013 season after two weeks. Nice work. Problem is they never seem to hit with their high draft picks anyway!

The Browns made a horrible move IMO

So they go ahead and trade Richardson, a guy they selected at #3 and traded 3 picks in the draft to move up and get, for a 1st round pick likely to be in the 20s.

Clearly they're tanking for Teddy

Yep.
It's a horrible trade.

indy basically got the best RB prospect since Peterson for what will be a mid 20's pick. Highway robbery

I've been reading the Browns forums and they don't see it that way. They are very happy he is going. I wouldn't be surprised if the Browns threw money at Ben Tate next year, to go with their top 3 selection at QB and something for the OL line to give them a chance to be competitive. (As well as drafting a few WR's in the later rounds, they have so many draft picks that they must hit on some)

Realistically, Richardson has never really been 100% fit at the Browns, and struggles in some areas of the game. I can see why the front office wanted to move on, get something from him while they still could, and tank the rest of the season to ensure they get a good draft pick (which the selection of Hoyer as starting QB has guaranteed)

The Browns should get their choice at QB and or RB/WR in the first round. Still, I don't know anything about next years RB class.

Lombardi will only draft RB's in rd2 or 3. With the salary cap room they have, and the fact that whatever they draft won't hurt for 4/5 years now, I think they do buy some talent to fill the team out over that period.

The Browns seem to be ok on defence so getting a top notch WR and QB would be priority and some help on the line for Joe Thomas and they are an improved football team a la the Rams (if they get it right).

I can see the sense in it from a Browns perspective... you tank for Teddy, you can find RB's easier than most positions and you want to go full rebuild

but he's a good player who could help any young QB. I dont like the trade, i dont see any area of his game he cant do, he can run between and outside of the tackles, can catch out the back field and is ok but needs more work in pass pro

thier draft is going to be stacked, which is fine but this is bad trade for value

Yep, they really need to focus on that side of the ball. It's hard to win games if you have very little offensively. But knowing the Browns, they will probably draft Manziel as QB and be irrelevant for another 4 years.

he hasn't set the nfl world on fire.

the browns now think they wasted a high pick on him and are trying to get maximum value for him. another season of rushing in the 3-4 yards a pop range will see his value plummet.

I think there are attitude issues as well with Richardson. Overall, sounds like a good trade for both sides but one that benefits the Colts more over the short term and catapults them into a contender in the AFC now.

I think it's a pretty great move for the Browns, Colts... I don't know, I feel like there are other RB's floating around that you could have got at a better price, like Bell from the Lions, Gerhart or Ben Tate.
