The only other sport I really watch is the NFL, and whilst it borders on farcical at times, they get it right 95% of the time due to video replays

The standard of refereeing is inexcusable no matter how you want to look at it and everything is going the roosters way at the moment.

There's bad refereeing that goes both ways, but when it goes just one way it's sad.

The refs do suck though. I think that's a big issue for rugby league to fix. Hayne is supposed to be the best we have ? He looks lost and confused out there.

The officiating this year has been nothing short of disgraceful to the point where fans such as myself are leaving the game until major improvements are made.

This incompetence has led to the worst GF in NRL history which by the way I'm not watching. 7 tackle tries, elbows to the face, inability to control the clock, players in touch by a metre and tries still awarded, double standards on high shots and length of suspensions and blatant bias toward certain teams and ignorance to shameful tactics from teams (Rorters deliberate penalties) etc.

This combined with ElephantJuice and the worst GF ever has led to this NRL season being a write off. I hope the NRL just wipes this year from the history books.

The refereeing is only a small part of it. Other codes are pissing themselves laughing at as due to the awful management and promotion of the game for the most part.

And I'm also fairly certain the fact that many NRL clubs have become so heavily reliant on pokies revenue and sponsorship from the gaming industry as opposed to revenue from season tickets, supporters memberships, merchandise sales and bums on seats at the stadium is also Pants-wettingly hilarious for supporters of other codes too.
