Phobias?

This! I consider myself confident, im certainly not lacking in self esteem or ego. But I'm still pretty shy, don't talk to new people for no reason, and take a while to fit into groups.

As for the thread topic. f**king heights. I don't think it's a fear of falling, since I love rollercoasters and similar shit. But looking over a balcony or standing on something see through messes with me.

I struggle in group situations. Not sure if it's a shy thing though. There always seems to be 2-3 people who feel the need to talk over everyone else and I can't be f**ked trying to get a word in.

Put me in a 2-3 person convo and I'm fine. The larger the group gets the quieter I get. Maybe I'm just lazy.

Will add Sharks. f**king fascinated by them and love watching them, but they're f**king terrifying, which makes it hard because I love the water.

Having said that, if I got the chance I'd jump in a cage and watch them from there.

In a similar boat (pun intended) but is more a fear of open water then sharks. Swam with sharks before intentionally and unintentionally without any dramas and are absolutely amazing creatures to get up close to but jumping off a boat that is far out and going for swim makes me very nervous. Cage diving with a great white is on the bucket list

The only animal that f**ks with my head is crocodiles. Great prehistoric death beasts, utter merkins the lot of them.

Good thing they are only found in the best part of the country ;-)

Had a run in with one as a kid when i was still in cairns. Was a storm drain next to our house and when the rain picked up it would fill pretty easily. Me and my brother would grab a piece of cardboard and jump off the walkway over it and ride the rapids down and stop at the mesh rubbish catcher about 40m down, climb out and do it again then jump back out when the water started going down. One day we jumped out and went inside About 20 minutes later the water had gone down another half a metre or so and there was a 5m croc wrapped up in the wire mesh and couldn't move it's head. We are going straight over the top of it

Spiders. I never had a problem with them before - and then, thirteen years ago, we return to Australia, and the sheer number of the nasty f**kers that can kill you (or just look like they can) changed my stance.

I love the ocean, but one time when I went snorkelling, I was in reasonably shallow water, swimming over the rocks and stuff and then came to the drop off point where it gets deep.

I couldn't see the bottom and all around me was just blue, blue and more blue. I did not like that at all. Back to the shallows! I just didn't like not being able to see anything in all that blue.

Heights get me badly. Not a fan. Not a good flyer either.

I have something of a fear of deep water too, which I always found weird since I surf and scuba dive...I'm always a bit nervy on the board, but underwater is fine. Seems to just be the being on the surface with anything under you, invisible thing that gets me.

Absolutely, and because I'm fascinated by Sharks I probably know too much about the way they hunt/kill. Definitely a f**k you very much situation. I'd stick to the shallows too.

Had a few scary shark dreams. Remember one was a game show where there were platforms 20 odd metres apart floating in the water. Stay on a platform for too long and it gave way. Two great whites in the water below, last one not to get eaten wins. Was one f**ked up dream.

Been in the water with plenty of sharks tbh, only felt threatened by a rather large tiger in Moreton Bay...

It's not really a phobia, but I am f**king terrified someday I'll knock a girl up who I'm not interested in being with.

Your choices are basically:

- Marry person you don't want to be with and do your best
- Spend next 18 years sending money to a child you never see
- Be a complete deadbeat

It's almost enough to make a guy want to get the snip.

The other thing I can't bring myself to do is watch someone receive an injection. Pretty ironic considering I am diabetic and inject myself twice a day without issue

This. I've seen videos where people get their heads/ limbs chopped off (terrorist/ cartel scum) and barely flinched, but I couldn't stand watching anybody shoot up in 'Trainspotting'. And in 'Law Abiding Citizen' where that dude gets a lethal injection and then his veins go all purple, I broke out in a sweat and felt like I was going to puke everywhere.

Yet when I have to get an injection of any sort, I watch the whole thing take place...

Misanthrope, I worked with a bloke who was in that exact situation. He chose option A, sucked it up, married her and settled down. Seemed to work for him, eventually. That's not to say it would for everyone.

For me, it's heights and falling. Love flying though.
