The HD issue is one of the main areas where Ch9 have been screwing RL fans over for years. WC yet to kick off and pre-game looks very good (although I do agree with those that said they could've picked someone better than Matt King to accompany Ryan Phelan). So funny every time Ch7 show archival footage of the 2008WC Ch9 covered:lol: The difference in the screen quality if world's apart. Phelan also showing why Fox made a bad mistake replacing him with Matt Shirvington.

Oh, and so happy neither Rabs, Raaaaaay nor Gus are anywhere near the WC coverage this time around. Rabs recent interview on Triple M regarding the WC just shows how much of a disaster it would've been had he been involved with the commentary, especially with his smartarse, sarcastic comments about the other teams. Little wonder he has not called a RL game outside of Australia/NZ since the '95 WC final.

With the first-and-last NRL rights clause removed at the end of 2017, there's a high chance that they will lose the NRL rights in the next rights contract. It will be a great day if either Ch7 or Ch10 pick up the FTA component

On the topic of RLWC rights, they are not included (i.e. negotiated separately) from the NRL tv rights. If the 2017 WC is held Down Under or in New Zealand, I pray that Ch9 don't get anywhere near the WC after their absolutely abysmal, shambolic effort in 2008 - so shambolic that the Aus/NZ match match was delayed by so much that the Fox Sports replay of it finished earlier than the Ch9 broadcast:lol:
