Ranking the wingers

I f*cking hate the off-season and am already bored following the conclusion of the RLWC, so following on from the "Ranking the fullbacks" thread i thought i'd give my two cents about the best wingers in the comp.

1. Brett Morris (dragons)
2. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (roosters)
3. Jorge Taufua (sea eagles)
4. Akuila Uate (knights)
5. James McManus (knights)
6. Daniel Tupou (roosters)
7. Kevin Gordon (titans)
8. Jason Nightingale (dragons)
9. Nathan Merritt (rabbitohs)
10. David Williams (sea eagles)
11. Manu Vatuvei (warriors)
12. David Mead (titans)
13. David Simmons (panthers)
14. Sisa Waqa (storm)
15. Josh Mansour (panthers)
16. Sam Perrett (bulldogs)

Just Missed Out
Kevin Naiqama (panthers) - if he could nail down a starting spot he will probably be there
Justin O'Neill (storm) - big potential but goes missing alot in games
Daniel Vidot (broncos) - hopefully gets a wing spot at the Broncos this year, huge potential.

Players with Future Top 10 Material:
James Roberts
David Nofoaluma
Marika Koroibete
Edrick Lee

Also if Ryan Hall and Josh Charnley played in the NRL i think they would make the list. IMO they were pretty impressive in the WC

The amount of times David Williams had to just walk over the line and place the ball on the try line due to a typical Manly set move is huge. Comparing that to someone like Mansour, Mead, Flash and RTD i say David Williams is nowhere near them. Because Panthers aren't that good of a team Mansour has to try create everything himself and same goes for Mead as he plays in a team which is structurally very weak and so he gets less time with the ball in his hand but still is able to produce linebreaks.

Wolfman has also blown so many easy tries just due to having a wimpy little 12 year old's physique and being tossed over the sideline like a piece of garbage after being set up for a gimme by Lyon. He's blundered more tries than he's scored. Who knows how dominant eagles could have been in recent years if they had a competent winger.

I remember one game last season against souths he blew 4 tries in the first half, deadset blundered them where a decent player would have definitely scored. Souths went on to win by a narrow margin, and were the better team in a lot of ways, but still if wolfman was even vaguely NRL standard the Eagles would have won by 24 + points.

Morris is the best winger in the game. And a true winger not a big battering ram. Great finisher. Very fast, Dynamic from dummy half. Safe under the high ball. Excellent defender. Pretty tough and rarely injured. Big drop down from there. It's not an era of great wingers.

Both he and RTS are the best. Well Hayne is better than both when he plays there for NSW obviously.

But at club level these two are the best atm. I like RTS for all the reasons Morris is good, only he also has the most lethal footwork in the game which makes him unstoppable close to the line.

Yow Yeh was every bit as good if not better before his cruel injury. Now there was a true, natural winger.

The list lost credibility when Lachlan Maranta wasn't ranked number one with daylight ranked second.

Morris, then Taufua, then Nightingale.

Josh Mansour will be better than all of them. He is a gun.
