    The Game 2022 Crowd Watch

From what I have heard from members is 11,000/- which includes level 2 and level 4 on western stand. Level 4 having 7,000/- of those member seats.

    NZ2 - Which city/cities/region?

Its a pity as the cake tin is in the best location for a stadium in NZ. Walking distance from city and heavy rail. This might be a little left field, what would you think about a stadium (20K) somewhere in the Hutt Valley ?

    NZ2 - Which city/cities/region?

I agree financial sustainability is the key. Guess the argument as far as NZ2 is concerned with TV money is Sky NZ covering the new team and fox paying for the 9th game.

    NZ2 - Which city/cities/region?

Thats the crux of the issue, for all the kids that leave to OZ there would be just as many who stay in NZ and play union. Pathways are the key and there are ways for the NRL/NZRL to improve on those without the need of adding an NRL team just yet. An example could be Kiwi team or Warriors in...

    NZ2 - Which city/cities/region?

It's interesting cos one of the true heartlands of RL in NZ besides South Auckland would be the west coast in South island. That won't really have an affect on attendances on games in Christchurch. Christchurch is a great place but it's not ready for an NRL franchise besides the lack of...

    NZ2 - Which city/cities/region?

I understand you are keen for a WA team, so am I. However let's keep this thread about NZ. Not discussing whether it should be WA or NZ next just the potentials for a NZ team. Personal opinion I think WA should be the 18th team but can discuss that on another thread.

    NZ2 - Which city/cities/region?

I think this is a great thread (lets hope it does not get ruined). NZ is very interesting as there is no particular location that can you can confidentially say "yes thats it". It also presents RL with an enormous opportunity. If for example the AFL had the footprint RL has in NZ they would be...

    The Game 2022 Crowd Watch

I agree. 7 at Win and 5 SFS, the SFS games can be blockbusters against Souths, Roosters, Bulldogs, Parra maybe Wests. Most of those games should get 20K plus not to mention the income from corporate for the Dragons. The Anzac game alternating between Dragons and Roosters.

NRL's growth mindset points to 18th team. And it ain't Perth.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/the-press/news/129255045/live-christchurch-to-get-new-stadium-after-councillors-agree-to-683m-deal Can only be a good thing for RL, Warriors and a potential 2nd NZ team down the line. 25K with option to increase to 30K

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Ok. Or a deal in kind with some cash for keeping the NRL GF in Sydney. The two stadiums the NRL should look at IMO are SFS and Commbank.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Now the article mentioned more than one stadium. I agree with you I would certainly choose the SFS over Accor. More anchor tenants as well as revenue earned from better corporate facilities. The other option id look at would be Commbank stadium. With the Tigers looking to go back to suburban...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Interesting, if NRL had a choice whether to have a stake in Accor or SFS which would you choose? And why...

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Leichhardt is an interesting one if they get 60mil. Now consider the new stand at Brookvale was for 33mil. Could maybe do a northern stand similar to one at shark park with corp boxes on the top. Refurb the existing stand, maybe extending it north and south so the end connects with new northern...

    2022 NRL ratings

I don't think that will ever happen, too many bitter old boys who need to look down on League as a status symbol. It's just the way it is and one of the reasons why union will always survive in Australia, due to its white collar support/background. You only need to look at some of the private...

    2022 NRL ratings

True, i mean the Wookie maybe from an AFL background but I don't see anyone else taking the time and effort to post these details. It should be appreciated. I think RL has learned a lot from the AFL and will close the gap as time goes on. Will it ever be bigger than AFL ? Who cares, I do think...
