How do we get the crowds to internationals?

Why hasnt the NRL already made that change though? Why are they instead considering the opposite? Is it really an altruistic desire to promote and grow the game in the Pacific Islands and NZ? Or are they quietly concerned that, if forced to choose, a lot of these players might not actually...

    Team v Dolphins

Yep indeed, that's how I've now come around to this game too. A result would be nice of course, but IMO of more interest is how a number of individuals perform, and how the team responds to this tough period.

And the lack of competition gives them no incentive to change either. 9 and Fox are constantly trying to one-up one another, so journos are always digging for scoops and rumours, tv producers are always trying to attract more eyeballs, and both camps are always sniping at each other. Plus I...

    Injuries 2025

Yea probably. Carried on afterwards, but could definitely see him being hobbled by it. I'm actually glad he's been scratched this week. He and Clarke are arguably our most impactful middles; much rather he comes back when fully fit even if it costs us this week.

    NRL Rd 22 2025 - General Non-Warriors Thread

If Hughes doesnt make it back, or comes back half baked, then yea that's my pick too. But if Hughes gets back, even at 80%, I'd back them in over the Raiders.

How do we get the crowds to internationals?

Yea agree. Plus its hard for fans to become more invested if players aren't either. The players say all the right things and I'm sure there's pride in the Roo jersey - but lets be honest... if only allowed to pick one, how many would turn down an Origin jersey in favour of a test one? Game...

Jurbo is a legend... saw a snip of his session on the Cooper and Matty poddy, he talked about getting smashed on red wine - that he hated - on a Kangaroo tour.. man he tells a great yarn

    The run to the finals

Yea good shout. Sharkies definitely have the softest draw home for teams 5-7. And if the Dogs have sealed a top 2 spot by the time they play in R27, they may even rest their frontliners. I have us finishing 5th (which I'm not upset about) and facing the Fins at home in week 1. Win that and...

Yes its interesting isn’t it. I follow the ABs religiously and as much as I love the Warriors, I'm not as emotionally invested as I am for the ABs. But otherwise I don’t watch anywhere near as much rugby as I used to either. Most of my friends and family still do though, so I’m a bit of an...

    Team v Dolphins

Good point about reuniting the Cup spine. For me, that change would turn this game from "ah shit" to "hmm.. this might be interesting" I've been pretty critical of TMM's inconsistency as a starting half in the past but I'll gladly wipe egg off my face this weekend if he has a cracker. No...

    Team v Dolphins

Bloody hell. Well on the bright side, we get to see what Demetric, Healy and TMM can do as starters. Lots of people have been pushing for that and now they get a crack. And now there’s bugger all expectations so we’ll probably win too.

I cant see it ever happening tbh. I mean what makes the ABs a core part of the national identity is they fact they've been successful for 120yrs and they've done it on the international stage. People in Europe, Asia and the US who otherwise have minimal interest in the game know the team...

    State of Origin 2025

Yea I remember Milf having a good game. Unfortunately he was also the one who got stripped by Morgan on his way to putting Feldt over. Hunt being blamed for the loss was as undeserved as JT getting the Churchill I reckon. If there was a moment they lost the game it was the leftside calamity...

Controversial: Origin needs to adapt to reflect a changing NRL - or die a slow death...

It’ll never get to that. Anyone pushing that line is just playing the hysteria card. Players’ connections to their ancestral homelands will naturally dissipate over generations. It’s a natural – and inevitable – outcome of cultural assimilation. Teddy is a 2nd generation Italian who's only...
