    Noah was one of the best players in last year's Shield comp, good luck to him. Interestingly Jake Watmough last year's Sydney Shield "player" of the year has been selected in Ryde's SS team this week.

    While it's only early days, it looks like Wenty and Saints will dominant SS. Today's game was a ripper, two evenly matched teams slugging it out for the full 80 minutes. While Wenty won the season is only young. As for the other teams, there doesn't seem to be any consistency week to week...

    Glebe have had a high turnover of players to date, with not many of last year's side featuring so far. Fitness was an issue in game 1 being run down after holding a big lead. Games against Saints and Wenty certainly showed defensive weakness out wide.

    Now I know the system, I can understand the results. For my money Saints McCann Livingston was the standout in SS - a powerful runner both in the middle or on an edge, 12 trys for the season.
