All jokes aside, Totally agree.

An overhead shot of a scrum these days shows the packs bound like a herd of cattle.

Fair enough the modern scrum is just a token to circumvent injury but the main objective of taking forwards out of play should be adhered to . . . no backs allowed

Tackles around the head should be a scrum, not a penalty. It's instinct to try and take out and opposition player when they have the ball and you're close to that player. The player comes at you, you're conditioned to try and hurt them.

if you're only a few metres in front and the ball comes at you at a fair speed from a player (when not kicked), it's a sub-conscious reaction to catch the ball, a penalty is too harsh IMO.

Penalty for double movements on the other hand are harsh

defensive team gets too much of a leg up from offensive sides elbow touching the ground
