I would have never thought this...

And another option- the way that the position is changing at the moment, developing him into a ball playing lock in the mould of Cam Murray isn’t even out of the question. He’s tough as nails and regularly puts guys 20kg heavier than him on their backside in defense.

Still think Mann has the potential to be a lock in the mold of Cam Murray. It’s not like we’re flush with quality backrowers and Barnett can’t slot into the #12 jersey.

Could be even more likely now that Sione has left and Fitz hasn't gone close to cementing a place in the backrow the last two seasons.

One thing about Mann is that he has the ability to poke his nose through the line and earn a quick play the ball. Just coach him to run hard at half gaps and not crab across field looking to link up and he could be quite a strike in attack.

Agreed. Mann had a good year this year but out of those two you can't go past Watson surely
I am an unashamed Watson fan.

injuries have crueled him, and I understand why people don’t see value, but the role is his covering Brailey’s spell and then finishing with energy in the back row with tired defences. Green will accommodate this with smart kicking and game control.

If he can stay on the park the kid is a gun 14 and far better than Mann in that role.

In an interview with Toohey he mentioned that he's going to get rehab and see a specialist who will teach him how to run better ( something about the movement through the hips ) because the thought is it's his style and the way he plays the game that are causing these injuries.

Wow I didn't think he was close to Murray's size. I would've likened him more to Cam McInnes from the Dragons and what he did this year.

Cam is actually shorter but 91kgs.

Also anyone including Ponga who thinks he makes the all blacks side as a fb is kidding themselves. Barrett is streets ahead of Ponga and would almost walk in to starting fb at any team in the nrl he liked.

Maybe Ponga can be on the bench?
