Shit day for first weekend footy this year.
Girls were ok in a close one.
A lot of changes in Matts side didn't help them with a slow start.
Game was gone before they fired, but they got better as day went on. Ilavalu best.
SG was a nightmare from the start, way outclassed, our new signings showed nothing. Stanley had a lot of work to do not sure if he is up to it.
Morris best.

Thanks George for the score updates. Hopefully they are not a sign of how we will go in the other grades.

It may be that changes to coaching staff and players getting back to playing will gel better when they get use to each other in future matches. Newcastle junior teams are strong I believe.

George, in relation to young players we sign up for Flegg & Ball from outside our catchment , would the majority of those play for the steelers due to easier transition to live in the Gong rather than the big smoke ?

Correct mate
We still have familys that board the boys.
Teenager where do you pick.. the beach
Only a few go to Dragons
Cody did because he had family in Sutherland area.
Elij who we signed from Qid chose Dragons, he is boarding with Dantoray who is from Qld too.
Dragons are up against it, small junior area and generally get boys who can't make the stronger clubs squads.

Thanks mate. Any NRL players we get from the St George juniors is really a bonus.

And the Steelers catchment area just got a little bigger with a group 6 club (Southern Highland storm from Moss vale / Bowral area) from the Campbelltown catchment given approval to join Group 7

Final score in HM sees Steelers 38 defeat Raiders 6

In SG Ball:
Rabbits leading Dragons 38 - 6 (seems a popular scoreline today)
Steelers trail Raiders 6 - 4
