Had a thought just now: TSS only got his chance because Maiu'u went to the Dogs. Yet here TSS is playing FG, with a contract until 2028, while Maiu'u is playing reggies for the Dogs, and doesn't seem to have got close to their FG team, despite all the injuries they've had...

Ah yes good point... TSS was only elevated to the top 30 after Zyon had been released wasn't he? Wow.. sliding doors moment right there. Stoked for the young fella.

I remember being pretty critical of Webster for releasing Zyon at the time; thought it was going to be another Katoa situation for us. Could still be over time I guess... but so far, coach was on the money.

Te Maire Martin re-signed until the end of 2026:

Warriors secure Martin until end of 2026 NRL season

Playmaker Te Maire Martin has been re-signed by the One New Zealand Warriors for the 2026 NRL season.
Off-contract at the end of the 2025, the 29-year-old will extend his stay at the club to four seasons after arriving in 2023.
He started 2025 with the New South Wales Cup side but has been used as a bench utility at NRL level for most of the season before starting in the halves against the Dolphins and the Bulldogs in the last two rounds.

“We’re really pleased to be able to keep Te Maire with us for 2026,” said One New Zealand Warriors general manager recruitment, pathways and development Andrew McFadden.
“He’s tremendous value for us on the field while also providing great assistance for our younger halves coming through our pathways.”

Of Martin’s 13 first-grade appearances this season, 11 have been on the interchange as he has lifted his career tally to 106 games.
“Te Maire has given us so many options this season with his ability to fill so many positions,” said One New Zealand Warriors head coach Andrew Webster.

“At one time or another he has been used in most positions when we’ve lost players through injury.
“Above all he brings a fantastic club-first attitude and truly epitomises our next man up mentality.”
After starting his NRL career with Penrith in 2016, Martin had stints with North Queensland and Brisbane before joining the One New Zealand Warriors.

Kayliss Fatialofa re-signs until the end of 2027:

Fatialofa secured on two-year deal until end of 2027 season

Promising second rower Kayliss Fatialofa has signed a two-year deal to further bolster the growing stable of young homegrown players in the One New Zealand Warriors’ NRL squad.
The 20-year-old Manurewa Marlins and Otara Scorpions junior links up with fellow pathways graduates Demitric Vaimauga (Warrior #280), Ali Leiataua (#282), Jacob Laban (#286), Leka Halasima (#289), Tanner Stowers-Smith (#292) and Eddie Ieremia-Toeava (#294) who have made their NRL debuts since 2023.

“Kayliss is part of the crop of impressive young players we’ve seen emerging since we’ve had our full pathways structure in place,” said One New Zealand Warriors general manager recruitment, pathways and development Andrew McFadden.
“He made his New South Wales Cup debut last year and has been outstanding throughout this season, playing every game and making a huge contribution to the team winning the minor premiership.”
Like Vaimauga and Ieremia-Toeava, Fatialofa has come out of De La Salle College; he was the winner of the MVP award when De La Salle took out the grand final at the NZRL national secondary schools’ tournament in 2022.

The following year he started his journey through the Warriors’ system with seven games for the SG Ball Cup (under-19) side before a landmark season in 2024.
Showing his durability Fatialofa made another seven SG Ball appearances and 12 for the Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) side as well as stepping up to the New South Wales Cup with eight games for the club’s reserve grade side.
This year he has played the full 80 minutes in 19 of his 22 NSW Cup appearances, scoring 12 tries to rank as the equal top try-scoring forward in the competition.
Averaging 89 metres and 27 tackles a game, he has 12 line breaks, 12 off loads and 62 tackle breaks.

"Promising second rower Kayliss Fatialofa "

Hes been way more than promising. The guy has been a gun and we wouldnt have sown up the minor premiership so early if not for him.
