True, but I believe they get some income from the Leagues club, which will be pokies based. The rest of the revenue presumably comes from ticket sales, membership fees, merchandising, investment returns, and sponsorship.

Incidentally, when you take into account our profit margin, we're actually doing worse than quite a few of the teams below us on the list.
Leagues club used to give the football club a grant, not sure how much and if they still do.. NRL give the clubs every season something like $15-17m which covers the cost of the salary cap, also the lower grade caps as well and coaches and staff, the leftover is kept by the clubs.

I wasn't sure either, so I looked up the St George Leagues Club Annual Reports. In 2017, they gave over $3M to "Football clubs and community development and support expenditure". In 2020 it was $1.2M. In 2024 it was $500k. I suspect very little (if any) of the $500k went to the Dragons, and it was probably all spent on local footy teams and comps in the St George area.

What I don't get is if each club gets $15-17m from the NRL, that pretty much covers all the Dragons revenue shown in the list. If so, clubs like Souths and Parra are doing way better than us.

interesting. Where does most of the revenue come from? Merchandise? Memberships? Or pokies? Serious question. How can we improve
Don't let anyone tell you the Dragons don't have plenty of funds. It is the structure of our board is the problem. We need to acquire WIN/Gordon's shares and then have WIN as a major sponsor with stadium naming rights.

The St George side of the partnership has plenty of funds ,the League’s Club is trading very well.
But none of the trading profits go to the Football club, there is actually no point in having the Leagues club !sell the lot to private equity to a rich fan who has some football and business nouse unless that happens the dragons will continue to finish 12-17th and eventually will fold.

Great idea Possm. This would help with TPA's as well.
