Kurt mann was exceptional last night when he came on. He was a genuine threat with every touch through the middle.

We need a 14 that can play tough and fill mins in the middle with some speed and skills... enough skills to fill in at 6 or cover centre if injuries occur..

Carrying schnieder on the bench for 80mins is the most insane coaching move. It literally makes zero sense

I'd cop a half sitting 80 on the bench in finals games if Nathan is carrying an injury but f**k week to week

What I think are realistic #14 types that would improve us are Pheonix Crossland and Billy Walters.

I dont mind Walters, he cops a bit of a bad wrap because he isn't his Dad. Decent player though.

I never said we should get kurt mann. Just a player with similar skill set.

Ive said several times over the last few months the club needs to go after 3 or 4 boom 17yos.

Cole lacks speed and size.. that's his biggwst issue..he has loads of heart and puts his body on the line but you cant coach speed..

We badly lack speed in our 17. Whole squad for the matter.

i think the 14 role suits Cole - i think Cole could pinch hit at ballplaying 13 if we lost Yeo & Smith mid game - i think he could give decent service from half and has always been defensively solid. As a 14 id expect him to lead the kick chase and just be a ball of energy in his stint.

Api would suit the 14 role incredibly but no chance Api comes back for a 3rd stint

I dont mind Schneids - but we cant carry him on the bench not being used - thats a criticism to Ivan that he hasnt solved the 14 role in 2025- it was well discussed last year and he we are again.

if Ivan & the staff can figure out the riddle of the 14 jersey - we become even harder to beat

We dont need experienced players. We are stacked with experience. Even if soro amd garner leave half the squad still has multiple nrl gf experience.

Walters is most certainly the last thing we need.

I'm not looking to develop anyone in this situation, the problem exists now. I'm interested in replacing the injury covering utility who doesn't play if there's no injury because they're not a good enough defender or dummy half, next season. This is because the players we developed for the position have failed to impress. Walters would be an instant upgrade to Schneider in the 14, he'd actually get minutes resting Kenny at 9 as well as providing injury cover, and being on the outer he's somewhat plausible (rather than you know, saying how we just need someone like that SOO player).

He's an Aussie rep and probably wants a rep forward contract.

His jogs to the line in the first twenty are painful to watch.

He has great skill but unlike the great one his tough carries are non existent.

Yeah keep him.

He does a lot of 1% stuff. Talker on the field. I think he will end up a future captain at the club if he stays long enough.

At some point those carries will have a bit more venom.

And api is 1million times the player billy Walters is

Really what position does walters cover other than 9?

Im not saying hes a dud or avg player. I actually like walters..

Hes just absolutely not what we need.

Sommo would be better. Cole would be better both as immediate fixes..

There is no way the club should be signing any 32 yo player.

We already have an aging roster.

Edwards is almost 30.
Yeo is 31 this year.
Leota is 30 in a few weeks.
Sorensen is 32
Nathan is 28 this year
Martin is 28
Garner is 30

Theres soo many better 14 options you could look at. 2 at our club being sommo and cole that probably deserve an extended go at it.

Bringing in a 32yo avg hooker doesnt fix anything.
