@yakstorm 's info was super interesting and really made sense with how I was feeling towards what the Phins have been doing.
I do think that 'The Rise of the Dolphins' program has been good for them.
Where I feel that they are dropping the ball is with their interactive content opportunities and particularly with their sponsors. For example, they've had one post this week with a Foot Locker voucher and give away. Foot Locker is a brilliant target given their youth customer base, but they didn't go in tandem posts with Foot Locker, or collaborate properly, it was just a post that drew 37 likes.
Broncos on the other hand have posted in collaboration with all of their major sponsors this week, which magnifies the audience and increases your presence in the algorithm. That's the kind of digital marketing that the Phins need to get out there.
For example, if they fixed up their ticketing shenanigans, and went ham with some appropriately tailored posts across social media, they probably could have sold 2-4k more tickets tonight.
Their post for tonight's game doesn't include the link to the tickets in the main subject, you have to find that in the comments. The post text is actually smart, and if they hit it with a targeted/sponsored campaign based on location and key phrases, it would have brought this post up for Lions fans. Shit like this is so small, but it's poor marketing execution.
British & Irish Lions fans — we know you're in Brisbane. Come see the best centre in the world… and yes, he’s British 😉 Dolphins v Cowboys TONIGHT 7:50 PM | SUNCORP STADIUM
