Rumours (signings, sackings & other NRL stuff)

I disagree. I think all we want is 20 quality minutes and he hasn't been good enough. I think his form has dropped since playing for us.
That's been the problem for years. We only get 20 quality minutes out of our players, if that.

It's why we haven't had a winning season in 14 years.

We need a minimum of 30 quality minutes out of the rotation and bench players, and 60 out of the players who stay on the field the whole game.

You make an extremely good point here. I'm laughing but my thoughts when I posted my comment was if Hunt can give us 20 good minutes and then they sub him off that is good enough.

You win though. We are lucky to get 20 quality minutes per game out of any of our players.

I think we have too many worker type forwards. May, Twal, Seyfarth are all worker middle forwards. Pole and Sione can give us some impact. If Hunt was coming in and causing havoc we'd be heaps better.

It’s not going to matter much who we recruit without almost all of the retained players lifting, better game plans meaningful defence, good interchanges and so forth.

Kpp is nowhere near enough at the moment to do much next year.

The master plan for this season has been a shocker and no doubt the brains trust will come up with another cunning plan of lazy forwards and halfling backs.

If I don’t see another ex panther again, I’ll die happy…except for one guy. I feel sorry for him too lol.

A couple questions, does anyone have the answers to the following, regarding HBG? Thanks

1. How much money do they spend on the Wests Tigers? (I heard a poultry 1.8m. If this is true, no wonder we are stuffed)

2. And if this is true, why don't they spend more on the Wests Tigers?

Richo would take up half of that probably. He doesn’t come cheap.

Benji is free though, a sponsor shouts him.

For the right money I'd sign him. He's long past being an origin player so I wouldn't pay him origin money. He'd offer a hell of a lot more than Hunt, or anyone else we have on the edge.

I think Hunt is providing what he can. It's not like his minutes have dropped off a cliff since he came here. He's doing what he did at Cronulla pretty much. Which probably shows why they weren't crying when he left. It was our fault for signing him, thinking he'd suddenly be able to play 40 to 60 minutes.
I Agree DOM.
Playing in the NRL demands a high level of psychological strength, which involves determination, concentration, controlled aggression and the ability to push through pain and fatigue, in other words, a players mindset.
Our team's inconsistency has a lot to do with this. A great coach like the Bellamy's aren't as much as a technician as they are a motivator. A great coach helps develop a player's Resilience, Confidence and Focus.
When our team has the right mindset they can match it with the best, however, they can't sustain effort and concentration.
This is where Benji comes in. Also with his assistant coaches. Our failures or successes rests a lot on their shoulders.
Royce Hunt has not been groomed into a player who can play week in week out at a high level for long periods. Since making his debut with the Raiders in 2017, and later with the Sharks, just like you said DOM, he would only 20minan average of 20min a game as an impact player so that's where his mindset stands.
The light at the end of the tunnel is, when I watched him play in KOE recently, he played the entire first half for 40min with out a break.
He was a beast. He smashed the opposition both in attack and in defense, charged into the D from the back fence, and he forced them into errors too.
KOE is played at a reasonable high std so it wasn't against inferior opposition.
Get your head in the game Royce, stop being lazy and play for what your being paid to do.
We need you!

Exackery!
If there's a game that highlights the need for Hunt, it's today against the Belmore Poodles.
Galvin, who looks like his hair has been attacked by a whipper skipper needs to be whacked to remind him that we haven't forgotten him, as well as his unscrupulous manager's antics.
If we don't have a solid middle they will fold us in then their players like Kickacow running wide, and their classy backs, will towel us up.
Also our back three will be bombed all game by Burton.
If we manage to win, I'm tipping our big man May, and his little brother, will score over 60 fc pts each.

It would be good to beat them to make some kind of statement and restore some justice back in the game.

The paddock will be a bit of quagmire, probably will help us.

Whatever my misgivings about Benji as a coach, i was an bit upset by Galvos personal attack on him. There was no justification for it.

Someone said on the other forum it was in the HBGs annual statement, so take it with a a grain of salt
I'm just interested mate. I imagine they would pay everything that the salary cap doesn't pay for.
I like to know how much money they put into the COE after the grants.
Also they paid of Balmain's debt.
I would like 3 grades of Wests Tigers and have the HBG pay for what's required. Having just a Magpies reserve grade side just fuels a divide imo, well it does for me.
The HBG was originally formed to prop up the magpies so I guess you can understand old Magpies supporters being peeved off having to prop up Balmain.
The sooner we stop talking about Western Suburbs and Balmain the better.

I’m ok embracing both legacies to be honest.

Proud of both.

I'm not, Western Suburbs and Balmain are feeder clubs that's how it should be. We are Wests Tigers.
Nah, respectfully.

I was called to follow the wests tigers, but then as I learned about the two clubs, they became more valuable and precious as DNA.

It’s like getting two extra presents at Christmas.

I will defend either of them from expulsion from the union.

I’ve got two kids, I’d neck myself before favouring one over the other
( assuming I’m the father lol).

Your still confusing three clubs. Respectively too TSP, I'll blame people like you in years to come if the tigers disolve.
Where there are grumblings it's a concern. One of the people wanting Western Suburbs reinstated is the recently appointed HBG' head musician. HBG holds all the power. It's Western Suburbs.
Just like when journos report of rumblings re players contracts, a lot of the time it comes to fruition.
The only thing I've got on my side is time. A new generation of kids who started following the tigers since from WT inception are adults now and there would be a mass exodus if the tigers were replaced.
They can't even get a playing strip that equal 3 colours. That is only fair.
If you think there is no divide in supporters your wrong.
The roar store is full of black merchandise. Let Magpies sell there stuff out of CS COE, and Balmain at their new development albeit it's Wests Ashfield ha ha, and sell Wests Tigers stuff at the WT COE and all other outlets and game venues.

Very disappointing to hear I’ll be blamed for something that won’t be my fault.

Woofie is also a paid up member of the wests tigers and he almost choked on his meaty bites when he read this.
