Wowee those CONCACAF games were exciting.

Group A was the boring one as Panama won convincingly and Suriname lost. Panama are in World Cup while Suriname head to the qualifier tourney.

Group B though, motherf**ken Curacao held the group lead but had to travel to the much higher ranked Jamaica needing a result to qualify. They held on for draw so Curacao are in the World Cup. Jamaica head to the qualifier tourney.

Group C but… because the way other groups went, 2nd place was already guaranteed NOT to advance any further, only 1st place would go through. Going into today, Honduras & Haiti were separated by one goal and Costa Rica are point behind them but with better goal difference than Haiti. Basically all 3 teams needed to win to have real chance at surviving. Costa Rica & Honduras played out a nil all draw, which gifted Haiti the group win with their 2 nil win over Nicaragua.

So the list of crazy teams qualified grows:
Uzbeks
Cape Verde
Panama
Haiti
Curacao
Scotland are back
Algeria are back

Still alive
DRC
Suriname
Bolivia
New Caledonia
Northern Ireland
Albania

Iraq are still alive but will they be allowed in country?

Cameroon & Nigeria have both been eliminated, as have Serbia, Venezuela, Peru & Chile.

Italy, Turkey, Czechs and others still have to go long way with UEFA qualification

Today is draw for intercontinental playoffs and UEFA 2nd round. Games aren’t until March.
DRC & Iraq are the seeded teams for playoff tourney.
Sweden because they have been shit are in last pot for UEFA meaning they will cop an Italy, Denmark, Turkey or Ukraine. But they are also the more likely to top one of those teams.

I reckon that back when we moved to Asia, FIFA should’ve just folded OFC in with Asia as well. Would’ve assisted NZ the same as it did us and even for the minnows it could’ve been structured so Tonga wouldn’t have had to regularly travel to Oman but they could’ve had more regular matches against slightly stronger nations like Indo or Thailand
