Singles, the best bits of the Seattle scene on one disk (minus Nirvana). Would definately recommend it to any music fan.

Plus some good Paul Westerberg songs.

I'm a big fan of a quality soundtrack. My alltime favourites are definitely all the John Carpenter ones he did. I also like the non-Carpenter ones like The Thing and Starman. Philip Glass has also done some absolutely brill
iant film scores, the Qatsi trilogy are absolutely superb but my pick of his would have to be The Thin Blue Line. Rude Boy (1980) by the Clash is excellent as is Queens Flash Gordon. More American Graffiti is great. I especially love the opening to the film with the choppers flying up river in Nam while Heat Wave blasts out of the speakers.

Just thought of a couple more. Craig Safan has done some legendary film scores. Remo is his best but The Last Starfighter is awesome too.

I love any John Williams scores especially his more famous ones like Jaws and Star Wars but this is my favourite of his, the opening theme of the movie is just magic as the helicopter flies over the ocean, into the hills, through the fog then the Golden Gate Bridge comes into view and the copter flies under it and over the San Francisco Bay, his score of the opening sequence is just stunning. I will often just play this soundtrack at home on a Sunday if i'm home alone.

I'm a huge Warriors fan so having Michael Becks sig on there is very, very cool.
I already have a signed CD from Olivia Newton John but having Gene Kelly on it is amazing, Jeff Lynne is on there but Richard Tandys sig really stands out :) Michael Becks is fairly prominent also. It looks in fairly good condition but will most likely get it re framed once i get it.

Is the prized Matt Latanzi signature there?
Lol, it could well be, there are three sigs i cannot work out from the pic my sister sent me, guess i will work it out when i get it. The ones i cannot get even blowing the pic up are one in the top left corner and the two in the top right corner.

In the 80s and 90s, musical artists would bust their asses to have a presence in a movie soundtrack. For some reason, that simply doesn't happen anymore and it hasn't happened for a long time. 80s-90s movies were the golden era for it.

As far as musicals go, Grease and Grease 2 easily. That was not a typo either....I love Grease 2.

Movie soundtracks that are not musicals.....Cocktail. I first listened to that soundtrack about 9-10 years old. It was and still is a banger of a soundtrack.....not a bad song on it. I had only seen the movie about 2-3 years ago. I do wonder overall what did better? the soundtrack or the film. I reckon the soundtrack would be in front.

In terms of musical scores, Carpenter films (even the later crummy ones)_had a damn good score.

Wanted to have a musical career before his career as a director took off. Was in a couple of bands but they weren't very good
That does not surprise me....he absolutely had a knack of setting the mood with a great score....probably the best of all time in the horror genre. Only really matched by the Spielberg / Williams combo.

Grease and Saturday Night Fever would have to be up there in the top soundtracks of all time.

Another guity pleasure of mine is the Flashdance soundtrack
Irene Cara had quite the run there.

I have owned both Grease and Saturday Night Fever soundtracks forever....lol. I still have cocktail a little in front due to the diversity of songs. Saturday Night fever was basically a Bee Gees album.

Definitely agree he is the best at setting the tone of the movie. My absolute favourite from him is certainly Escape From New York.
I remember watching the remake of "Assault on Precient 13". It was a pretty good remake.......but, I remember absolutely missing a Carpenter-like score.

I like "Vampires" and "Ghosts from Mars" but they are not in the loved Carpenter movie space. Both movies still had that Carpenter score touch. Gifted when it came to putting a score together.
