Neither here or there for moi at the moment. Years ago I would be very excited about the Ashes but don't know so munch now.

I did hear about Cummins and Big Tommy Hazelwood being out but as for the rest of the team I am waiting for Stake to post the list up.

What time does it kick off on the tele (Qld time).

Iv always loved my cricket but the past 2-3 years iv lost so much interest, they are the most boring un likeable Australian cricket team in 40+ years.
I’ll still watch it tho

The sport has become diluted like side show alley, but… it’s the Ashes. The only damn thing that really generates some interest.
Have no idea why the kick off in Perth, but whatever.
Hard to get a gauge on this, but with the great but woke Captain sidelined, it’s definitely do-able for the poms. We will see.

Same as most sports, it peaked a while back.
Border. Warne. Gilchrist. Waugh's. Botham. Flintoff. Broad.
Wouldn't miss it.

But couldnt name more than 5 players from both sides.
But its a summer tradition. Goes all day so great white noise in the background and sitting around having a beer and its on.

Once it starts there's buy in

I'll be watching, but I'm with @R-15-3 - there's not much about the current mob I like or admire.
It is The Ashes though.

The start of the cricket season always reminds me of when I was first working over here.
The founder of the company I was working for is a young Dutch guy.
He asked me to explain cricket to him, which I attempted to do.

At one point he asked "How long does it go for?".
I answered "It depends on which format. There are three formats - Twenty 20, One Dayers and Tests. Twenty 20s go for about 3 hours", at which point he interjected "Three hours! Man that's a long time"

I just laughed and said "That's the shortest format".
He couldn't believe it.
We didn't get as far as discussing the length of a Test match haha.

It was a great watch.
Man walks into a pub with the Poms at 1-99,man walks to another pub and it’s 5 for ….
I get it, 2 day test what the… But sinking 6.50 schooners at the Townie whilst watching Travis Head going nuts was pretty special.
Imagine having Day 3 tickets to the game.

A lot of people bought only day 3 tickets. Shambles.
