I watched a good amount of our games towards the end of the 2025 season during the off season on YT. I made a comment on this thread that we looked like such a well coached football team. Cerebral in what we offer on both sides of the ball. (i know its just a trail) i think we might look even better this year.

Looks like these boys have put in the work and i am super keen for saturday!
If you thought we were dangerous last year, you should've seen us in 2023! We were equal sixth in line breaks per game. It's just a shame our defence was so poor. Last year we were equal 10th.

I think you measure the metres after contact
A lot of the time a fella is making metres after contact but it is really just that the defenders are wrestling him and the defensive line is under no stress from it - actually they are having a breather.
A line bend is when the middle forward gets to the defensive line and punches through it a bit (bends it) which usually causes some panic.
I would make it a seperate stat from post contact metres. Call the state a bend.

I remember in the 2022 GF our forwards had a comparable amount of post contact metres as penriths forwards but they had about 25 bends to our 5. Which told the story.

If he's still making metres, it means he's not under control of the defenders and the rest of the defensive line needs to be prepared for an offload.
