Season 2026

Tough start against 3 teams everyone is predicting will be top 8. The Dogs backline will run riot in Vegas. Leo Thompson out for 10 weeks may help. Moses/Pezet in the halves will be deadly. Moses is due for another long term injury. If he goes Saints would be a huge chance. Storm can be scrappy early on and it is a good time top play them.

If Saints can jag 1 win it would be great, 2 would be awesome and 3 wins, well we may start believing in a top 8 finish. Imagine the confidence the boys will have. They will be on a huge high coming off 3 wins. However 3 losses and that can be disastrous and a bottom 3 finish will look more like a reality and what most of the media experts expect from Saints in 2026.
I’m on you guys for Vegas. Pump the pimps.

They won’t have a big fan turn out as a lot of the terrorists who make up their fan base won’t get visas to the US.

Now get out there and show the world who’s boss.

Good luck dragons, the eyes of the league will be on you.

Get it done lads…

Dragons have only signed Keon for 2027 one extra player will not move the dial much

I hope you are wrong, I think they will be 1-3 with a win over the eels, the next 3 are all winnable, however I think they will win 1hopefully 2 out of those 3 as well for a 2(3)-6 (5)start for the year.
For 2026, we still need an experienced first-grade-quality prop and a first-grade winger/fullback.

A gun half and move Kyle to a utility role.

I get the feeling that less intensity, scrutiny and pressure would clear his head and improve his game.

With injuries, he’s still 50/50 of finishing the season full time.

Madge was very big on spreading the squad at Souths during his golden days there. Didn’t go into 2025 finals series without some gun talent either.

This season is more of a squeeze.

All power to the injury recovery folk.

I still reckon 12th to 15th for the season. Backs are much the same as 2025. Atkinson will go OK at half, but it will take time to develop combinations with Kyle and/or LKT. The young forwards will all be better but then we got rid of two experienced, hard-working and no-nonsense forwards in Klem & JDB, and replaced them with Kerr? Not expecting much but hoping I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Incidently, I'm keen to see how the new on-field trainer rule goes. I'm hoping it will drag down Penrith and Brisbane a notch or two, since they seemed to be the sides that most exploited it.

I don’t think Klem and JDB have too much left in the tank as a fighting unit, but as you say, until we see how the replacements fare, it’s unknown.

I think the current understanding is that smaller forwards with high energy are better than slow leviathans.

And everyone loves a giant back with nimble feet who can still conjure up a break with a powerful fend etc.

And no more wasted tackles. A gain of less than reasonable meter age should be punished at training.

Anyone watching television station Channel 9 Sydney's coverage of the Vegas trip would think that the Dogs are the only ones playing. For the last three nights, (19-21st February 2026), Channel None (sorry nine) have done a lame, limp, pathetic story on Dogs arrival (Business class no less) Vegas (Noone else), trip (presuming we as consumers are interested). God it's pathetic. It really is. Typical Nine dribble. No wonder noone watches your channel. I mean, it wouldn’t too hard to seek out the Dragons (Dogs competitors) and give a balanced side to the story. Interesting concept I know. Maybe you should try it, Danny Weasil, sometime 😏. Let's see if you do!!

We haven’t arrived yet afaik.
Maybe we’ll get arrival story when we get there.

Yeah, very positive interview and I like Shane when he gets into a few forensics.

Patience is probably the main message here, the rebuild will take longer than a season.

Two or three mystery marquee are being hunted to comple

The ceo sounds really hands on with the selections, DA, Ben and Ennis working around the clock.

It’s still a narrative at the moment, but with a lot more depth than other fans get which I appreciate.

Flanno makes a lot of sense. Have to see how it unfolds, but I was encouraged.

So it gets back to a rebuilding season, but he reckons the squad is stronger than last year. Need to get those close ones, but he probably wants supreme effort first. Then I guess the wins should follow.

I was thinking about it. It probably suits SGI to fly under the radar ( excuse the pun).

I appreciate watching the bulldogs publicity circus can be a bit sickening, but it’s the cross you have to bear to humiliate them.

Flanno said no one is allowed to have a good time until after the win.

I’d also put a spending limit on all players and if they have to punt, take them to where the locals gamble …which is off the strip.

$300 should be enough.

The story is that Adam Reynolds and Nathan Hindmarsh pretty much blew most of their salary. Nathan is featured in publications about it which they display at Parramatta leagues.

That would be consoling if he wasn't already into his third season...
It didn't take that long to rebuild f*****g Notre Dame.
I completely understand but I’m just reporting back

Someone worked out at our current rate, the Tigers should be hitting finals in 2030 Benji signed for life coach in accordance with the Mates Act.

Prince Andrew will be out of jail by then.

It was probably good for Brisbane that Renno blew his wads at the Souths juniors.

Because Reed's inclusion would mean Kyle's exclusion.
Please refresh my memory....who ever said (from management) that Kyle was ever bought to be anything other than a no.14?

Indeed, for as long as I can remember, the club has been saying that are always on the hunt for marquee middles and halves. I thing they still are.
Happy to be proved wrong.

The thing is, Kyle is virtually indestructible - offering some sort of stability in the halves. He's probably the first to admit he's never has been and never will be in Origin discussions. At least he always turns up every week...which is more than I can say about most of his teammates.

I expect quite a few people here must pour shit on most of our Olympic athletes when they don't reach finals...let alone medal. Think about it. Not may Nathan Clearys about as far as I can see.

Flanno talking about the difficulty of senior players lifting for the trials was interesting.

He can tell them to, they can agree and make promises, but it’s still an issue.

He discussed it openly.

And I was thinking about it, maybe only very senior players earn the right to get that rain check.

So a difference in status of players.

Kind of different from the “ his way or the highway” we’ve seen him go with others.

Two or thee fresh marquee to recruit this year. He agrees with us that KK like Gutho is one of those “player’s players” that attract others.
