Unless we get absolutely decimated I dont see injuries as much of an excuse. We have decent cover in all spots bar fullback and centre (even then would just move Masi in and Skelton/Lauilili on the wing) imo

We have a good solid squad this season. The only injury I was thinking could be an issue is Luai but we have a lot of depth in the halves. Fullback is potentially an issue but I suppose you could move Turuva there as well.

Gee, there is a lot of talk about the rorters being a powerhouse this season?

Time will tell, but one of there key signings DCE is 37 and there best player Teddy, is 33. It's a big ask.

I looked at there T30 squad and they have another 3 halves in it?

There other key signings are Jnr Tupou & Talau?

Good luck.

It's a squad that's got talent throughout the grades alright Vic.
I finally got to see the last full trial game last night and both the main side and reserve side showed promise.
Even players like Mavrik Geyer, Charlie Murray, and Tristan Hope look like they'll contribute at some stage this year.
Javon Andrews has a nice late jinking style run and deft grubber and should develop nicely as will Jared Haywood.
Big winger Izaac Tu'itupou looks to be out of favour but if he hangs around he could be handy deep into the season.
It's probably been covered already but do you know why KPP, Hunt, and Skelton didnt get a hit out, niggling injuries perhaps?

They have a good team but there are lots of question marks as well isn't there.

KPP & Skelton were said to have minor injuries, can't recall why Hunt didn't play?
I can't find it, but I have a feeling that Tippytoe has gone to second division, not sure if it was in the Balmain or West divisions?

KPP I think had a calf injury, Skelton has some injury and Hunt played in the all stars and didn't have enough time since that game. I think May also had a back injury.

Thanks Tm, Tiger05, that all makes sense.
You've probably heard it a thousand times that training is harder than the game, well it should be, because it's a week long and at the end of the week, the players just want to play footy so bad.
I would have loved to have seen the rotation of May, Afoa, and Hunt in the last trial because it's that punch up the middle that often gets players like our edges and halves on the front foot.
The bye might have worked in our favour if niggling injuries are a concern.

I think the top 8 is a bit of a stretch, its easy to get carried away before the season starts.

It's very rare to find an independant 'expert' having the Tigers in the 8

It has to happen sometime, may as well be now.
Not sure any independent experts tipped us in 2005 either?

We were tipped to come last. I think we have a really good squad with depth but lot's of teams have good squads with depth.

It took a while to find it, but Izaac Tu'itupou has signed with Lakes United Seagulls.
Oh that will do me. I'm going to bite my tongue with this one. The Gulls are a feeder club of Newie I believe.
I was confident that if we ever wanted to revert back to a big fast winger to sub for an injured Skelton he would be the perfect man to do it.
However, now that we have most bases covered, Izaac is excess baggage.
At least we gave him another chance to restart his career and I'm confident he'll play NRL with Newcastle next year.
So much for biting my tongue 😛 and thanks for chasing that up Tm 👍

Important to get off to a good start, imo:
R1-bye
R2-Cows back from Vegas-LO
R3-Bunnies-A
R4-Wahs-A
R5-Slimes-A

All 10 pts are doable, but at least 8 hopefully.

Well, it starts (edit) tomorrow.
While I don’t think we need it, I hope the cows get beat up severely 😂😂😂
