Reading back through this thread. I'm surprised at the Rockmelon hate. I must be one of the few that actually really like it. It has to be fresh though, once it's past it's best its a big drop off.

@horrie hastings Dragon Fruit is the same. I had it once in China and really liked it, got some here when I came back and it was shit. I ended up getting a cutting and planted it to see how i went. I get a dozen or so a year off it now and there is a 24 to 48 hour window to pick and eat them. The flowers on it are amazing as well, it flowers at night, so you need to catch them as the sun comes up before they start to wilt and turn into fruit. The fruit flavour is subtle, but it's nice and refreshing with a nice amount of sweetness.
I have never really liked Rockmelon since i was a kid and don't even remember my mother buying it either but you would often go to friends house and it would either be sliced or have it cubed in fruit salad, i don't hate it but i wont go out of my way to eat it either.

I had seen the Dragon Fruit plants up at Tropical Fruit World, just think the fruit itself looks nicer than it tastes, i don't dislike it but wont buy it myself, if i see some at breakfast buffet i would get some but buying for home probably not.

The one fruit i wish was more common is the fruit from the Pig Face bush, it is beautiful, sweet and musky, just a shame it not very common.

I've never had Mac & Cheese. It has never appealed to me.
Tried it finally, it was fine. A homemade version would be better, but if I was going to bother I'd add other shit in there so it wouldn't really be mac and cheese anymore anyway.
