This is where a little knowledge is dangerous. If you think Nigel Wood is a good sports administrator then I have some magic beans for you.
To be crowing 2 weeks in

For starters how about you wait until:
* No club goes bust during the season (Salford last year)
* All teams get equal central funding (York and Toulouse are getting half of what the rest are getting)
* Teams don't have to subsidise away teams travel (Catalans and Toulouse)
* TV money increases by at least proportionally more for the number of clubs and inflation
Super League couldn't sustain 12 teams last year, so expanding to 14 is a bold strategy. An immediate symptom of this is that the tier below Super League is in a absolute state with heritage teams such as Featherstone and Halifax going bust.
Perth Reds were announced as an NRL expansion side in May 2025. Their first match will be
22 months later in March 2027. This expansion translates as 5.5% of the league in 2027.
The 3 expansion sides were announced in October, and they play their first match
4 months later in February 2026. This expansion translates as over 21%of the league in 2026.
The plan was always to go to 14 clubs however this has been rushed.
You state that
all they need to do is double the TV income. Consider that Sky were not consulted regarding this expansion and if anything warned against it once it was being progressed, should indicate their feelings when the TV negotiations kick off.
