You can’t complain that we don’t sign players then get upset when we create salary cap and room.

Sifa is one of my all time fav sharks. Wish him all the best. He will be 30 next April. We got the best years out of him but he will still be a class player for them.

Here's the thing as well. Sifa, for us, is a dynamic bench player capable of filling in for numerous positions.
How much do you pay for a bench player? He would be top of tree in that department.
How much would Perth pay for him to be a starting player? I daresay a lot more.
He deserves a pay day.

Yeah that’s the thing BBB… he’s almost 30 and was a late starter. He absolutely deserves the chance to set up his young family. I’ll still cheer for him playing for the Bears whereas he could eat a bunch of dicks if he went to the Goons or Rorters etc. Just in reference to his versatility…. With the 6 man bench starting up…. I don’t think the necessity for these Sifa type of players is quite as crucial.

I agree, but I also feel we under utilise his strengths.

Love Sifa. I rate him as one of our best players to be honest. He seems to be totally underused for some reason. Cant blame him taking the pay day though, hopefully the money is being put aside for an upgraded fullback if ison doesn’t work out.

I agree, Billy plays both edge and middle very well. He's needed as I can guess that BU (formerly known as BHU) will probably be gone as well.
Uele to me we have kept to long for the money he is on, when was the last season he was damaging for us on a week to week basis.
The amount of time he would drop a pressure ball inside the 20

You would have to imagine this means the club will now look to retain Wilton.

Only time will tell if it was the right call to prioritise him over Sifa. It probably was but it is a shame Sifa was never able to get a decent crack at that spot.

Hitting home a bit more now. I love Sif. I know the players love "Chief".

All in all we have had 7 seasons. 120-140+ games. He leaves us right before he turns 30. He has been a joy to watch. Personally I would have loved to of kept him for another season or two but we got his best years. He is 30 next year, made grade late. Has 3 kids I think maybe 4. This is a big pay day for him. He deserves it but make no mistake he is on a good wicket here. He is going to help build a new club - this might be his last shot to win it all. A fired up Talakai for the next 12 months could be special. He is a cult hero at the club for the rest of his life no matter what he does at the Bears.

Timing it works for us and him. We need a change. People will whinge and say move on Toby, BHU etc. Well watch this space and see. But reality is JC is our 13 moving forward. Wilton and Brit our edges. I have pushed for Sifa to play prop but when we have Hazleton, Kaufusi, AFB etc it is hard to squeeze him in.

I can't express how much I love Sifa. Just I get it - from both sides. It is hard to say goodbye. I f**ken love Sifa. I will be cheering for him at the Bears. That night against Manly is probably a top 5 night at the footy for mine.

Teig is 27 at the end of this year. He is signed until the end of 2027. I agree he needs to take a Blayke Brailey jump but it is not apples for apples.
