I am not going to be one of those who pile on to the Flanagan's. I really like Shane as a coach and from the outside Kyle appears to be a very decent young man. He is a whole hearted player who gives his all to the team. Simply put, Kyle does not have a skill set that enables him and the team to apply attacking pressure. Like it or not, if you have a #6 or $7 on your back your MAIN goal is to manufacture points for your team. That's the job. The failure to do that applies intense defensive pressure on your team, and the opposition understands that generally 20 points will win the game. I am sick and tired of taking about "brave" efforts. I want blowout wins! That "grinding style" aggregates during the season and fatigues the forwards very early on in the season. We have two young play makers in Read and LKT, and I understand they both have limitations as young play makers but anyone who knows the game knows that these two kids go to the line and ask questions of the opposition defence. Like him or loathe him, Galvin did exactly that yesterday for the Dogs. He caused confusion in our defensive line. Picking Kyle also applies pressure to Atkinson who looks like a running back not an organising back. I would be picking the two kids to run the side, moving Atkinson to centre in place of Suli (who has become a real defensive liability) and while Sloan does my head in he has one thing that the rest of the backline lacks, genuine pace, and I would have him on the wing. I'm OK with Kyle playing off the bench, he can cover multiple positions, but if Shane is determined that "Kyle in the halves" is the hill he is going to die on, then die as our coach he will. We are in the midst of a genuine and sustainable rebuild, and as much as I like Shane, he will be gone if he can not manufacture points, and points manufacture
Very good summation Rob Dragon , each of your points are quite valid . I just hope that young Reed’s body is able to gain a bit more muscle and without that affecting his tremendous speed . But as you have said he would certainly do a similar job as Lachlan is doing at the grubs .

And no doubt we will get a few 50 50 calls next game so the nrl can say well you got some calls .wont help that they will be to no real advantage and doesnt give us the point we deserved yesterday

As a neutral I thought you blokes got completely bent over yesterday. Hard luck, I'd still be swearing about it. Hopefully you get some better luck, and calls, next game.
We'll get the calls in a game where we're losing badly that won't affect the outcome anyway, then neutrals will say "swings and roundabouts" or something to that affect.
I'm so over the cheating.

qld redvee haven’t you seen who we play next week, we won’t get any 50/50 calls until we play one of the fellow lesser lights .It really annoys me how the refs and bunker favours the top teams in terms of rub of the green

Hey Vic. You blokes get bent over just as much as we do. Having a missus that is a Tigers tragic, I get to watch all your games as well. You get some shockers. Not to mention the first round bye you’ve had twice in three years. Can’t see that ever happening to the likes of the Broncos, Storm etc. Unfortunately it comes with the territory of not being one of the glamour teams.

Stephen Crichton learns fate as fellow NRL star banned, footage sparks questions in Vegas furore

Stephen Crichton has escaped a charge altogether despite NRL fans fuming that he wasn't sin-binned in the Bulldogs' win over the Dragons on Sunday. However Cowboys winger Braidon Burns is facing a two-game suspension for his hit on Kalyn Ponga.
And eyebrows have been raised over the actions of a Bulldogs trainer late in the game against the Dragons. The Bulldogs won 15-14 in golden-point extra-time, but the Dragons were seething over a number of controversial calls. Crichton's game-winning field-goal came after a contentious penalty for a 'strip' that many thought was the wrong call.

And many also questioned why Crichton wasn't sin-binned in the first half for a high shot on Dragons winger Setu Tu. Crichton came barrelling down on Tu while the winger was attempting to catch a high ball, and Tu rolled to the ground after pouching it.

On his way to ground, Crichton came in dangerously and collected Tu straight in the head with his shoulder and arm. Crichton escaped anything more than a penalty because Tu was so close to the ground, but many thought it still could have been a sin-bin for the forceful and reckless contact.

On SEN radio, commentator Jimmy Smith questioned why Crichton escaped a bin when Cowboys winger Burns didn't get as lucky in the first game. "It was a clear hit in the head. It's a double standard compared to what we saw in the first game with Kalyn Ponga," Smith said.

Chad Townsend agreed, saying: "100 per cent. If Braidon Burns is in the bin then Stephen Crichton should be in the bin."

Stephen Crichton escapes all punishment

Fans were calling for Crichton to face sanction from the match review committee, and many questioned whether he'd finally be banned. But the Bulldogs captain wasn't even fined on Monday morning, escaping a charge completely.

Crichton was charged multiple times last season - including when he slid on with his knees and collected Dragons winger Christian Tuipulotu in the head in the corresponding fixture - but managed to escape suspension every time.

As for Burns, he was hit with a Grade 2 careless high tackle charge and will miss two games with an early guilty plea. Tyson Frizell and Tuipulotu both copped fines for incidents in the Vegas games.

Nice little video to show how much we got screwed yesterday

And that folks is how the refs can control games.
50/50 calls they can choose the team to favor, Sometimes it's even obvious.

I guess the only way if even possible to beat it is be well on top of the opposition so the tough calls don't decide the result. Unfortunately for Dragons the games are often close and we need our fair share of calls to go our way to win.
