Anyone else played the demo? Its the first GH game ive played and i love it (even using the standard controller.) Cant wait to get the guitar and the full game.

I think the awesome thing about rock band is that you wont need 4 people in your living room to have a fun time. Playing online with a bunch of people from around the world will be cool, and most likely people will find an instrument they love and stick to it. Also in that vid, the developers commented how their drum testers started out as novices and after a few months could easily use a real drum kit and start hammering away. Personally ill probably just pick up the game and use the GH guitar, then maybe pick up the drum kit. Not interested in singing or bass.

Man November is a huge month of games.

"Ballroom Blitz" – Sweet
"Black Hole Sun" - Soundgarden
"Blitzkrieg Bop" – Ramones
"Celebrity Skin" – Hole
"Cherub Rock" – Smashing Pumpkins
"Creep" – Radiohead
"Dani California" – Red Hot Chili Peppers
"Dead on Arrival" – Fall Out Boy
"Detroit Rock City" – Kiss
"(Don't Fear) The Reaper" – Blue Öyster Cult
"The Electric Version" – The New Pornographers
"Enter Sandman" – Metallica
"Epic" – Faith No More
"Flirtin' With Disaster" – Molly Hatchet
"Foreplay/Long Time" – Boston
"Gimme Shelter" – Rolling Stones
"Go with the Flow" – Queens of the Stone Age
"Green Grass and High Tides" – The Outlaws
"The Hand That Feeds" – Nine Inch Nails
"Here It Goes Again" – OK Go
"Highway Star" – Deep Purple
"I Think I'm Paranoid" – Garbage
"In Bloom" – Nirvana
"Learn to Fly" – Foo Fighters
"Main Offender" – The Hives
"Maps" – Yeah Yeah Yeahs
"Mississippi Queen" – Mountain
"Next to You" – The Police
"Orange Crush" – R.E.M.
"Paranoid" – Black Sabbath
"Reptilia" – The Strokes
"Run to the Hills" – Iron Maiden
"Sabotage" – Beastie Boys
"Say It Ain't So" – Weezer
"Should I Stay or Should I Go" – The Clash
"Suffragette City" – David Bowie
"Tom Sawyer" – Rush
"Train Kept A-Rollin'" – Aerosmith
"Vasoline" – Stone Temple Pilots
"Wanted Dead or Alive" – Bon Jovi
"Wave of Mutilation" – Pixies
"When You Were Young" – The Killers
"Welcome Home" – Coheed and Cambria
"Won't Get Fooled Again" – The Who

IMO that is a sh*t list. For anyone who has played Guitar Hero and finished expert none of those songs look like they'd offer a challenge.

It looks like they've watered down Guitar Hero to appeal to the Singstar fanbase.

How f**king intense is the final set?

Metallica, Maiden, Slayer and Eric Johnson.

Followed by the crazy metal version of Devil Went Down To Georgia.

Compare that to the Rock Band setlist and GHIII clearly owns it.

You may be right, ill still be getting this game, for the drums.

Ill be getting both, i cant wait for GH3, but this rockband looks cool IMO. Also that may be the full set list, but it is owned by MTV, and they are promising hundreds of downloadable tracks, including a full Metalica album.

Looks like fun IMO

Why is there a pic of somneone who looks like Abbath from Immortal on the box but no black metal tracks? They'd at least provide something of a challenge, especially if they put in something REALLY fast.
Some techinical DM like Nile or Cryptopsy would be fun too, if only as a "totally f**king impossible" encore type thing. SOmething like "Crown of Horns" or "Chapter for Transforming into a Snake" would do the trick;-)

I have read some threads, and people saying that "Through the fire and Flames"

Is one of the hardest songs ever, most how have completed all other songs on expert, cant get past 1%

This guy does a good job, but my fingers wont be able to do that http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Es_4Grn8njE

Yeah that Dragonforce track would be an absolute bitch to play. Theres an amusing irony for thoise in the know in that one too.... years ago, Sam Totman (Dragonforce rhythm guitarist) used to steal riffs from old Sega game soundtracks for his songs, so it's kinda appropriate that a Dragonforce song is ending up in a video game!

Reviews starting to come in - this one from gamespot

8.0

Guitar Hero III ups the ante with increased difficulty and new modes, and though not everything it adds is fantastic, the excellent tracklist and stellar gameplay are sure to keep you hooked.

The good -
The best tracklist of any Guitar Hero game to date * Lots of master tracks from the original bands and artists * Online play is a fantastic addition * Higher difficulty level ensures experienced players won't get bored quickly.

The bad -
Higher difficulty level ensures most people's arms will fall off halfway through the expert career * Battle mode and boss battles aren't interesting additions * A heavy dose of in-game advertising * Some frame-rate issues .

lol funny video review, shows how hard the dragonforce song is and also some metallica :D

Got the game yesterday and ripped through the career mode on expert and only have Raining Blood to go (plus Lou).

Alot of fun but I think GHII had a better tracklist, especially the final two tiers.

Mate create an account here and link your Guitar Hero Website account to your Guitar Hero 3 PlayStation/360 account, in the top right corner of the Guitar Hero site where it says "Select Action..." choose "Link Account" and follow the steps.

I'm crap and I know it. I have short stubby fingers which makes it difficult. (Yes excuses I know)

Here is my profile...http://www.guitarhero.com/accounts/279858

I only play medium (although I'm moving to hard).

EB are saying Febuary for Rock Band.

Just bought GH3 last weekend. On GH2 i was up to last tier expert, GH3 i cruised through hard until the last tier, One and Raining Blood took a few tries, now im up to the Lou battle, not even close. Can nail the song just keep screwing up the Battle Power pieces. Ill get there, only had a few attempts.

Just a quick question, the song Suck My Kiss is flogged in all the playlists advertising the game, but havent come across it yet. Where is it? Or did i just overlook it?

Suck my kiss along with 4 other songs are not in career mode for solo career instead are encores for co-op career, I think they are in quick play though.
