    Well, you'll never know definitively. Where you are most likely to lose out is in the forgone budget flexibility when negotiating with other players (i.e. the ones not on existing PO's).

    But he is now on the market (for 2025) when only a small number of high level players are similarly available. I can understand all sorts of reasons for discounting his value (I'm not overly keen on signing him). But you only need one club to focus on the upside, and that will drag his price up.
