Brisbane Tigers make their bid to be 18th team

To be honest it isn’t a bad thing - the area gets less overlooked, the new/outside club grows its supporter and junior based. It’s been way too long that areas like nz are left alone to develop by a single team. If we get all clubs working in the pacific how good is that for the juniors...

    2023 Pacific Championships - 14 Oct to 5 Nov

I agree, surprised with crowd. I think they’ve got the timing wrong?

England v Tonga Test Series 2023

Agree with below. They’ll get paid better and stay in the sport. Why play rugby - it’s boring. As the nrl gets richer and more options are available, we will see even more players come over. Good overall for England.

    PNG's back.

This bid is about the feel good factor, and giving back. It will work for several reasons 1 Government funding $15-$20 million making it viable option & diplomacy in the region. It’s been talked about for years and so it makes absolute sense. 2 Fan base - population of 7 million people. The...

    PNG's back.

I like that. - I think I said something similar. we need to take back Nth Sydney and Mosman. it will be the richest club. Great for manly, roosters competition. Brings in two good new stories at once Bears and PNG. Then to nz2 and Perth.

    RLIF Eligibility Laws

All players born in Australia will select Australia and that would be an Utter fail

    RLIF Eligibility Laws

Agree - this is the point, if the players had more opportunities to play and the pay was exactly the same then they’d probably play for their heritage teams.

    RLIF Eligibility Laws

I agree, surprised no one gets the logic Australia picks the side they want, irrespective of eligibility or trying to support the game grow. players shouldn’t be picked a few times and disappear. The young forward for Nth QLD won’t make the side after injuries this year. Yet won’t play for...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

First time ever. Will start seeing players defect. Doesn’t stop the pressure from meninga and co - full time coaches, vs part time - not paid coaches for the other nations. Origin etc used to play a part.

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

Didn’t say that. Comes down to the $30k plus per game played or not played. If they got paid $30k to Play for heritage team & $0 for Australia do you think they’d stick with Australia?

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

Australia picks players on form only. This means they pick new players to represent each year. Some of these players could have played for NZ or other nations. The only reason they play for Australia is due to the $30k per year. End the inequity and players will go off their heart alone, and...

Toulouse or London Promoted to SL!!

The only way we can grow the game is by expansion outside. Great news that Toulouse have got to the grand final. They need to beat London. They then need to be very selective on who they sign - I’d be looking at qld cup players and a few png players rather than nrl players. Sign them for 2-3...

Australia should stop stockpiling Pacific Islanders to start - tualagi, nene, tino, Holmes, Fifita, ….. hammer, goes on and on. they should be playing for the Pacific teams….

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

The other reality is AFL is more of an Aussie game. The NRL is very multicultural, this will favour the NRL big time in the future. Across most markets we have growth available - NZ, Pacific/PNG, QLD, WA, SA From a GF perspective, we are on par probably or it will start favouring us. However...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

This is true This is true, however people on here are not paying for the broadcast rights, nrl will present all stats and then ask for offers. So - yeah, he might not present nz, but the people that matter know and this should reflect in our next deal probably with smh/nine/stan I got banned...

    2023 TV/Fox/Streaming Ratings

The key difference is that if you compare the Melbourne vs Sydney - Melbourne people are indoctrinated into afl, they have Friday off as a public holiday by example. This means that the Melbourne result is much higher than Sydney - rest of the country we are growing. They are not.
