    What does any of this have to do with the club? If a third party isn’t honouring a deal with KP then surely that’s between him and the third party isn’t it? Why would he even consider leaving his deal over a third party that isn’t paying up???

    The Titans should give themselves an uppercut for having that clause in the contract. We were lucky to get away with a clause like that in the Ponga contract, but at least he re-signed. This sort of thing just invites the player to go elsewhere.

    If we could sign any player (regardless of price) to turn us into a premiership contender I would look at DCE, AFB or Harry Grant. All three of these guys would make a massive difference to how we perform on a weekly basis.

    With Gags I can see both sides of the coin, his experience is valuable to us but I don’t want the club overpaying for him either. I think somewhere around $400K would be about the right offer imo.

    TBH I thought the effort was there in all the games aside from the Bulldogs game. The game plan and combinations clearly weren’t gelling but the players looked like they were putting in. A few bad lapses of concentration definitely cost us a few times.

    You can certainly criticise his team selections and tactics from time to time but his commitment to the players and the club can’t be questioned. I’m not surprised the players have his back tbh, he clearly has their respect.

    Hasn’t he just suffered a season ending injury in reserve grade? That would be my main concern with looking at him. He’s always had wraps on him and he played really well in his debut season so he’s definitely not a shit player, Souths haven’t improved without him so I think it’s more a club...

    It was a gutsy win, not particularly pretty but very gutsy. I will put those last 2 tries down to the fact that guys were injured and a few playing out of position. We won that game by grinding them down with our completion rate which was excellent. Ultimately we’re going to need to win games...

    I don’t get to watch any reserve grade. What kind of player is Armstrong? Is he a running FB or more of a ball player? What should we expect from him?

    Yeah but there was a lot of noise about Pearce leaving well before it was announced. I’m pretty sure we signed Clune to replace him didn’t we? Should have gone for Reynolds with a bit of foresight.

    For the record, I think we’ve got the components of a good NRL finals level spine with KP and Brailey but we really need to upgrade one of either Hastings or Gamble (or both). Both were good last year but Hastings looks busted and who knows if he’ll ever be physically up to it as an NRL player...
