    I would NOT have had the players we have. Managing the roster would be similar to most plans, which would include contingency ( particularly the critical spine ) , a 3, a 5 and a 10 yr plan/forecast, Sure unforeseen circumstances play a role to a degree but that's what contingency plans are...

    So plan B, the back-up plan for our crucial spine position Randall cannot play 80 min of footy and is apparently the fittest bloke at the club? and the back-up plan for the back-up plan is Crossland. Kurt Mann is a boost? ( sadly this is true) AOB isnt up to the task of an NRL coach.

    I'd lean towards recruiting a star in the spine and a cheaper second rower than a star second rower and a cheap spine player. Pointless having a Ferrari when there's no one to steer it - sitting in the driveway.

    I dont see a club like the Roosters paying any forward 1+ million dollars a season. Valuable cap space for a superstar spine player.

    rumoured to be on 600K a year. He's a great player but not sure of we could possibly spend that money bettter elsewhere? - like a spine player. 600K + 800K Pearce money is a decent chunk of coin , hello Munster.

    Lodge would be another lumbering front rower similar to Dsaf, Jsaf and Klem. Madden would be good, like Burton he's a project and not yet the finished product by any means - plan for the future if we cant get a blue chip signing in the spine.

    Particularly in the spine. Api was merely an example and might be old and past his best but I'd bet he'd provide a better service and value to the team for the season than Randall. Only 1 thing worse than a fail and that's a no try.
