Dragging crowd averages down though. Poor stadium. No better than a suburban Sydney club.

    2024 Crowd Watch

The truth is Sydney fans are just pathetic. At the first hint of poor form they’re out. Every single club is the same.

    Ref and Bunker Decisions

Can a referee call a six again, effectively give advantage, then change the call to a penalty when the receiving team squanders possession? The ref did this for the Titans today, as they kicked the ball dead after the ref signalled six again. Advantage on six again calls is certainly opaque.

    2024 R5 Sat - Manly 32-18 Penrith @ 4 Pines

Attempted square-ups are ugly to watch refs.

    2024 R5 Sat - Manly 32-18 Penrith @ 4 Pines

It was a genuine knock back. I love seeing leniency on knock backs and messy play the balls. But that has not been the way it has been ruled for the past 15 years as the NRL has tried to eradicate the knock back from the game. So Penrith fans have every right to be upset.

    2024 Crowd Watch

These were good days. Partying with other Rugby League ex-pat fans at some pretty awesome Melbourne pubs. Limerick Arms South Melbourne and another in Collingwood that I can't even remember. Plus the Imperial on Spring St. I'm glad it's not like that now though.

State Government starts feasibility study about building $300m roof over Sydney’s biggest venue Accor Stadium could soon come with a $300m roof as tenants such as South Sydney and Canterbury-Bankstown are approached to ask for feedback on the state government’s plan. The State Government has...

    City v Country

How is one rep game meant to 'save' the entirety of NSW 'bush footy'? Does it mean volunteers no longer need to be found to join committees, recruit juniors, raise funds etc. What a magic solution! Not news. One player says he enjoyed playing in it once and would love to do so again. Gets...

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

As the controlling body of rugby league in Queensland, the QRL constitution explicitly requires them to: “foster, develop, extend, govern and control directly and indirectly the Game in Queensland from junior and school levels to elite levels”. I'm sure the NSWRL has a similar mission in their...

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

There is nothing of substance in that article. It is a media release from the NRL to their News Corp partners to make the NRL's forthcoming humiliating backdown from court proceedings seem like some sort of victory. The NRL has to abandon it's attempts at vertical integration. The QRL is...
