    18th club, whose next?

I would like to think it wouldn’t happen in the short to medium term. Maybe when Melbourne’s population gets to 8 million or thereabouts then you might look at it (and that would also brr et dependent on where that growth is from and where the boom is)

Are you able to do that by Australia and by individual states. I saw the NZ one which supports another NZ side imo

    PNG's back.

I agree he is a hypocrite however that doesn’t mean that they aren’t also right on the balance of probability about the difficulties of having a PNG NRL side. I don’t think it is a good idea but having better pathways for the existing clubs would be

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

That’s literally less participants per capita than what RL is. https://www.footyindustry.com/2023/04/21/rugby-league-participation-data-shows-positive-trends-around-the-nation/ They have a different system and don’t really have a lot of community sport but in essence that is not a lot of...

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

It is a tenuous link - it makes as much sense as all of those tik tok links that you post. By the parameters of your own argument, you would say a whole bunch of sports are “struggling”

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

Of course it is. Certain people go a little over the top about participation numbers. It only tells a part of the story. The fumblers probably will have more numbers. So will soccer, cricket and netball. Gridiron gets eclipsed in the same way. Nevertheless (and I don’t like the sport I should...

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

How is a Kiwi bloke being selected for the Wallabies have any relevance to a second Kiwi side? For example, you could make an argument that the selection of a kiwi in the Wallabies side reflects how dire the Wallabies are but how strong the Kiwis side (i.e. he has no chance of making the All...

New Zealand 2 will deal a massive blow to NZ rugby

Considering he is dead that might be hard. Rugby Union in Australia (which has been crap for more than a decade) has no relevance to a second Kiwi league side.
