    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

    1. Meh I was very bored. 2. I find hypocrisy humorous. He goes on about the exploitative nature of gambling then engages in something that is as equally exploitative. He frames one as immoral and one as moral because he likes one and doesn’t like the other. In essence do whatever you like or...

I agree. The other thing is the laws in NSW. They have seriously affected the live music scene.

The Game Jerseys, Logos, Mock Ups, Photos ANYTHING

Sure. In any case, there probably isn’t going to be an Adelaide side in the competition for a long time in any case.

What would they agree with then?

I was thinking the same thing. If there was ever an Adelaide side they would be the perfect colours for it.

    18th club, whose next?

As you know I am not a huge fan of the PNG idea but I think if the Bears wanted to link with them and PNG had to come in, it might work better than with Perth. They could base themselves in Sydney which would attract more players than in Cairns. You could also play four games at NSO (can’t...

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

Engaging in gambling, like prostitution, is a decision that you or I or anybody else can choose to do. The moral equation is something you have introduced for gambling and frankly I can easily make just as strong a moral argument against prostitution as you can on gambling. Firstly there is a...

    18th club, whose next?

To be fair everyone we’re on a forum. None of what is going to happen is anyway impacted by what we say or think on here.

    18th club, whose next?

Why in that article are they mentioning the possibility of linking up with PNG? I thought the PNG bid already said no to them?

Exactly. Even if you wanted to criminalise or ban something like gambling (I’d rather err on the side of regulation on most things than simply ban them anyway) it would be nigh impossible to do so and the costs would outweigh any benefit.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

It would be absolutely awesome. If the Warriors get a new venue and a new side were to play at the Christchurch venue it would be worth it to go to NZ every year (NZ is great anyway but there is another good reason to go)

You’re generally right. You obviously have to have laws for certain things but trying to criminalise something like gambling would just drive it underground and introduce more criminality. Look at prohibition of alcohol for evidence

Cool thanks guys. I would be for a team on the South Island personally. Get a North vs South Island rivalry going and that new stadium in Christchurch would be a great facility

    Peter V'landys - New NRL/ARLC Chairman

Yep. As I said before you can find some unethical or immoral behaviour in any kind of walk of life. I would hope that most people would look at things with some sort of balance. For something like this, mining has provided economic benefits but then there has been massive concessions or...

    Yep very even handed.

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

For all the Kiwis on here, would the new stadium increase the likelihood of a second Kiwi team being placed in Auckland (I’m not a fan of that option) or would a second team more likely come from another area?

The Game Future NRL Stadiums part II

Pretty exciting development in any case (if they do it well)

They would have probably had games in the mid to late 30k I would have thought.

Yeah pawnbroking causes problems to people as well. Most things in life are grey except really indefensible and truly abhorrent things (look at history for those things) so there is no real reason to think of most things in a black and white way.

They would have paid him to have sex with them such was the allure
